Civic
Theatre, in partnership with WKTV Community Media, seeks a leader to spearhead video
production of promotional content for the 2015-2016 season. Grand Rapids Civic Theatre
is one of the largest and oldest community theaters in the nation and is an essential
part of the cultural landscape in Grand Rapids and West Michigan. WKTV is one of the
largest community media facilities in the country and together we need you to help us
continue to raise awareness about the immense value of Civic Theatre, plus preserve
and strengthen the Theatres unique place in our community through the production of:
1) A strong branding piece for Grand Rapids Civic Theatre.
2) Promotional content for individual productions including but not limited to cast, crew,
director and patron interviews, behind the scenes segments and educational
segments featuring information about each show.
Content created will:
1) Raise the profile of and build awareness for Civic Theatre in GR and West Michigan.
2) Educate the community about the need to support Civic Theatre as an irreplaceable
cultural treasure.
3) Inspire community members to attend Civic Theatre productions.
4) Demonstrate to current donors the value of their contributions.
5) Encourage potential donors to contribute to Civic Theatre.
The video production leader will:
1) Work closely with Civic Theatre and WKTV to develop concepts, scripts and produce a
production schedulefor the season.
2) Have strong skills in video and audio recording and video editing. However, those
with passion for the project and a general comfort level with technology will also be
considered.
3) Use Canon and Blackmagic Cinema cameras to capture video.
4) Use Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects and other video editing software to
edit content.
5) Assist with distribution of content for internet and television broadcast.
In recognition of the value of the content created by this project, GRCT and WKTV are
offering a $1000.00 stipend for this position for the season.
