NEW LIFE REVIEW
Will
you
hang
in
there? PASTOR’S
POINTS
In our society it is almost encouraged to fall off or be fickle. It seems as
though no one stays with anything. Statistics show that workers between the
ages of 18 and 38 change jobs an average of 10 times. The average college
student will change their major at least twice. Even when it comes to
seemingly unimportant things we are very “flexible”.
Whoever is giving the best deal on cell phones or insurance we are quick
to jump ship and ride the wave of convenience. I am by no means suggesting
this to be wrong but I want to suggest that the nomadic mindset may be
easing into other vital areas of our lives.
Take a moment to evaluate whether you have been wavering in your faith -Pastor Joe Lane
like you might with your cell phone carrier. We are given instructions in 1
Corinthians 15:58. It says, “Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let
nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, “Therefore, my
because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” dear brothers,
This is a good word for us as we finish the first quarter of our year. Hang stand firm. Let
in there and be patient with the Lord. Allow him to fully complete the work nothing move you.”
in you. Don’t jump ship. Hang in and see what the outcome has in store for
His glory!

SISTER
CIRCLE If you weren’t able to attend the Kick-Off Party for the 2010 Season of Sister
Circle here is a little snippit of what you missed...
Among some yummy food, lots of laughter and hugs we discussed some key
information:
Sister Circle Retreat happening August 27 - 29 at Cran-Hill Ranch. The cost
per person is $85 (a payment plan option of $17/month March 1 - Aug. 1 is
available). We also got our first look at the year-long “Save the Dates”
calendar which are available along with the registration forms for the retreat
from Marisa.
The other big topic was our new theme, “New Creation Beauty School” based
on 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore if anyone is in Christ [she] is a new creation;
the old has gone and the new has come!” We’ll be focusing on different topics
2010
Kick-Off
Party
having to do with how God makes all things new and beautiful, particularly us!
Recap Please consider joining us at the next Sister Circle meetings, March 9 & 23 at
Marisa
Hendricks 6:30pm. And if you’re planning on coming, invite the heck out of the women
around you!

THANK
YOU!
Men’s
Breakfast
Continued
What also caught my eye was that it was not firm but doughy and moist. I think
Pastor Joe tested it for quality assurance purposes and declared it fit to be
consumed by eating another piece and by looking over the top of his glasses in
his own special way that we all know means “If you don’t come and get some
of this I’ll eat the whole thing by myself.” Not wanting Pastor Joe to
compromise his diet I felt it my duty as a Christian and associate minister of
NLCC to take that burden from him. But Joe, being the Godly shepherd that
he is didn’t allow me to bear that burden alone.
In fact all the men in attendance step up and fulfilled scripture by bearing
each other burdens. – EXCEPT DANIEL – HE DID NOT EAT ANY
MONKEY BREAD!! (you owe me buddy!!) Having done our Christian duty
by eliminating any of Satan’s footholds we then prayed for the rest of our
food, ate, fellowshiped, discussed God’s word and watched Pastor Joe and
Daniel run around the basement snapping each other with water moistened
towels trying to illustrate to each other how to properly draw blood from one
another.
One final note, all of New Life owes Kevin Battle a word of thanks for
saving our building by uttering 5 simple words, “Uh Todd, you’re on fire.”
Lesson to be learned – dish towels are flammable.
FAMILY
DEVOTIONS
Supplies: A flashlight, a mirror & a bowl of water
Scripture: Genesis 1 & 2
Precept: We praise God and express appreciation for His creation that reveals
to us how Almighty He is!
Live the Lesson: Take a deep, clear bowl of water and place a small mirror
inside of it. In a dark room shine down the flashlight on the mirror and see
how it reflects colors. Lift the mirror so that it leans on one side of the bowl to
get a rainbow on your wall. Explain to your children that by creating light,

pudding interlaced with gummi worms and then sprinkle some crushed oreo

cookies on top. Mud pudding is really yummy! Don’t forget to say “Thank
Creation you Lord, it is good.”
Memory Verse: Matthew 11:25 “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and
earth.”
Prayer: Dear Lord, please help me to remember to notice all that you create
and praise you for it.
Living the Life: This week point out all the things around you that God has
created and how unique each thing is. Praise the Lord for His wonders with

MISSION
STATEMENT
PUZZLE
misha is
Going
to
africa
As many of you know, I am doing my
Student Assisting currently at Steele
Middle School. GVSU has a program
called COST that allows students who are
completing their Student Assisting in the
Winter semester to assist in the states for
10 weeks and complete 6 weeks in South
Africa. Yes, you heard me right, South
Africa. I will be traveling with 6 other
girls and a female faculty leader. We will
leave on March 21st and return May 2nd.
The first week in South Africa I will
be in the classroom observing, weeks 2
and 3 will be traveling the country, and
weeks 4 - 6 will be back in the classroom.
I'm a little nervous about being away from
home for 6 weeks but I am sure that the
time will fly. I am really excited to
experience living in another culture and be
reminded that we Americans take way too
many things for granted. I will try to post
photos and keep an updated blog so you
can keep up with my adventures. I will
have limited Internet access so you can
keep in touch (joker_49442@yahoo.com).
I can't wait to tell you all about what
happened on my trip and how God used
