MARTIN FAMILY SQUABBLE IN CAUCUS MEETING CREATES AWKWARD SILENCE

During the Compassion Party caucus meeting, brothers President Luke Martin and Representative Seth Martin
reportedly had a fight, creating an awkward silence. Hes always taking soap from my soap dispenser back
home, President Martin complained to The Funion. I feel like I have a right to my own soap. This is not my
definition of justice. Members of the Compassion Party, which numbers only 10 students and includes two
Martins, reported that they felt awkward during the family squabble. I wasnt sure how to respond, since they
seemed to be arguing over a soap dispenser, Compassion Party member Timothy Williams said. To help me
cope with the awkward silence that followed the discussion, I just started meditating on Scripture. I like to let
my Bible fall open to a page, and I think I found a great verse to apply. A brother is born for adversity.

CAUCUS REPORTS
PERSEVERANCE PARTY

THE COMPASSION PARTY

VISION PARTY

The Perseverance Caucus meeting was

absolutely brilliant. While the meeting
was long and nerdy, the members
persevered. The majority party focused
on maximizing the advantage of being
the biggest party as well as the
importance of unity and teamwork.
Floor Leader, Senator Vastbinder, said
he was amazed by the display of
knowledge and ability of the members.
The Perseverance Party will be going
into session with heads held high and
skirts knee length.

Compassion Party members enjoyed

their caucus meeting as President
Martin shared with them the
bargaining chip of a veto to be used
in extreme circumstances. They
discussed their party platform and
grasped the notion that that they
care about the world community,
but have no moral responsibility
when U.S. values are compromised.
Compassion legislators discussed
their agenda which prioritizes
SINAC#019 to stand with our
strong allies in Israel.
[special thanks to Luke Martin]

The Vision Party unified today in

their caucus meeting and
discussed the importance of
Reliability, Creativity, and a Big
Picture mindset. In discussing the
party platforms and stances, the
Vision Party cast their vision for a
strong and sustainable country,
accessed through a selfstimulated economy. Through
lively and engaged discussion, the
Vision Party showed that though
they are a minority, they will
demonstrate unyielding strength
and unity in this session.

CELL PHONE PRIVACY

DAILY POLL

The legislature this week is faced with the issue of

cell phone privacy. Two bills from the Security,
Intelligence, and National Affairs Committee address
this concern, yet provide starkly different
perspectives on it.

Both bills are reminiscent of the Privacy versus

Security debate of 2014. There are many good points
on both sides of this issue and I can foresee the vote
swinging in either direction.

FRIENDS

The Perseverance party stands for limited national

government. Seeing as Perseverance is the majority
party it would seem that SINAC003 would fail and
SINAC005 would pass. However; the Compassion
and Vision party platforms don't mention anything
pertaining to law enforcement. And one should never
discount the power of the minority party.

WHAT ARE YOU MOST LOOKING

FORWARD TO THIS WEEK?

LEGISLATION

SINAC003 and SINAC005 may seem similar at first

glance. But once both bills are read it is clear that they
are opposites. One attempts to protect US citizens by
making phone monitoring and tracking accessible to
any federal investigator upon request. The other
attempts to protect the freedom of US citizens by
requiring investigators to have a warrant in order to
monitor or track a phone.
