Since being optioned from Seattle on July, INF Chris Taylor has hit safely in 9 of 10 games, batting .400 (16x40) with 8 runs scored, 6

C John Hicks has hit safely in 11 of his last 14 games, batting .347 (17x49) with 8 runs scored, 3 doubles, 1 home run, 7 RBI, 5 walks

Smith (2x4, RBI) and C Tyler Marlette (2x4, R, 2B, RBI) each collected 2 of the teams 9 hits. Starter James Gillheeney (6.0,7,7,5,2,6,HR)
recorded his 4th loss with Jackson, allowing 7 runs (5 ER) on 7 hits over 6.0 innings. LH Kyle Hunter (2.0,2,1,1,0,0) allowed 2 inherited runner
to score and was charged with a run in a 3-run 8th inning.
ROY HOWELL TAKES OVER AS MANAGER: The Seattle Mariners announced that hitting coach Roy Howell would assume managerial
duties for the Jackson Generals for the remainder of the 2015 season beginning June 30. Jim Horner, who had managed Seattles Double-A
affiliate since the beginning of last year, recently accepted an assistant coaching position at Washington State University. It marks the secondconsecutive season that Howell has taken over as manager for a Seattle affiliate. Last March, he replaced Rich Donnelly as the manager at
Triple-A Tacoma after Donnelly was named the Mariners third-base coach in Spring Training. He led the Rainiers to a 74-70 mark, and his 74
victories were tied for the 9th-most by a manager in his first full season. Howell, in his 4th season with the Mariners organization, spent 2012
and 2013 with the High Desert Mavericks in the California League. His managerial resume includes three seasons at short-season Eugene
(2003-05), three seasons with San Luis of the California Collegiate League (2007-10) and one season leading the field staff for the Road
Warriors of the independent Atlantic League (2011). A former first-round selection by Texas in the 1972 draft, Howell logged time in the PCL
as a player with Spokane (1974) and Portland (1985), as well as three seasons as a hitting coach with Portland (2000-02).

2B, 2 RBI) each collected 2 of the AquaSox 12 hits. Starter Lane Ratliff (1.0,2,2,2,1) allowed 2 runs on 2 hits in the first inning. LH Dylan
Silva (4.0,2,1,0,1,2) earned his first career win, allowing only 1 unearned run on 2 hits over 4.0 innings in relief. RH Joey Strain (3.0,3,0,0,0,4)

NORTHWEST LEAGUE ALL-STARS: The Tri-City Dust Devils' Peter Van Gansen hit a game-winning RBI single in the bottom of the 10th
inning to lift the Northwest League All-Stars to a 6-5 victory over the Pioneer League All-Stars on August 4 at Spokanes Avista Stadium.
AquaSox LH Luis Gohara (2.1,1,0,0,0,2) picked up the win for the Northwest League, allowing 1 hit and striking out 2 in 2.1 scoreless
innings. SS Drew Jackson (1x2, R, 2B) doubled and scored a run in the first inning for the NWL before leaving the game in the fifth inning.
LF Logan Taylor (0x4, BB) started in left field and was 0-for-4 with a walk.

INF Drew Jackson currently has a 15-game hitting streak, including 10 multi-hit contests, batting .517 (31x60) with 27 runs scored, 5
