HISTORY
ZOO MELAKA, ESTABLISHED SINCE 1963 UNDER
THE CARE OF MELAKA STATE GOVERNMENT HAS
RECENTLY BEEN PRIVATIZED IN THE EARLY 2013
UNDER THE NEW NAME OF MELAKA ZOO AND
NIGHT SAFARI.
This 54 acres second largest zoo in Malaysia under the new management of Konsortium
KKW Sdn Bhd will see a transformation of the zoo to an open concept in animal exhibit,
enhancing wildlife education programme, animal breeding and conservation programme
and making the zoo to be a recreational area.
The ever popular Night Safari will be enhanced to give visitors a unique opportunity in
observing the behaviour of nocturnal animals in their natural habitats.
At Melaka Zoo & Night Safari, it is not just about a walk through our animals but a whole
new wildlife discovery with our various programs suitable from pre-schoolers to
university students and corporate companies.

Our Mission & Vision

VISION
The Melaka Zoo and Night Safari advocate conservation, education, and recreation
organization dedicated to the reproduction, protection, and exhibition of animals, plants,
and their habitats.

MISSION
To make Melaka Zoo & Night Safari a place for education and recreation with high
quality, services and entertainment for both Malaysians and foreigners
Moving towards the latest concept in zoo industries, which is the open concept.
Animals will be exhibited in large, green spacious enclosure not in the out-dated cage
enclosure
To create awareness among visitors about wild animal status through conservation
program

WILDLIFE ADVENTURE
Educational Program
Here at the Zoo, we are committed in educating students about wildlife, their habitats,
and how humans can protect and conserve the wildlife. Through many EduZoo
programs, expand your classroom walls with a field trip or an education program at the
Zoo! We deliver an assortment of classes, animal learning, and enrichment activities
specially designed for pre-schoolers through college students.

Kinder Zoo
In our Kinder Zoo, pre-schoolers will be exposed with fun classroom activities with reallife animal learning around the zoo

Fresh Zoo
For Fresh Zoo, primary school students will be exposed to animal classroom session
with real-life animal learning around the zoo

Peer Zoo
For Peer Zoo, secondary school students will be exposed to animal classroom session
around the zoo with additional activities of Enrichment and A day as Zookeeper

Uni Zoo
For Uni Zoo, seminar for university and college students will be full of discovery on
animal habitat and behaviourism to encourage interested students to conduct research
and internship programs

WILDLIFE ADVENTURE
Zoomanji

This rugged outdoor activity is for the wild challengers not only for the university and
college students but also for corporate companies seeking extreme fun in the zoo! Mind
you, Zoomanji program is also an ideal team building gateway where communication
and teamwork will be put to test. We welcome you to Zoomanji for massive adrenaline
challenges!

Planned Events

Enrichment
Our Enrichment program encompasses the behavioural needs of the animals in our
collection which is designed to provide our animals with opportunities to express natural,
species-appropriate behaviours. This program is coordinated by the Education,
Veterinarian and Zoological departments, which provide animal care managers and
keepers with the necessary supplies and current information to effectively implement
enrichment for our animals.

Jungle Trail (Rhythm of the Night)

a must try night activity in our zoo followed by a trail to Bird Park Melaka. Dare yourself
and experience wildlife nature at after hours and waking up to an amazing dawn
accompanied by chirping sound of birds and many other animals from the zoo. This will
be an awesome encounter especially for the fearless minds.

Imagine having a wild and fun concept for your special celebration. Yes here, we take

WILDLIFE ADVENTURE
Tour On Tram

Ready on board! Getting around the Zoo is now a little less tiring with our trams. Whats
even better with our education guided tour ready to share noteworthy bits of information
on the animals and its habitats, the tram circulates throughout the Zoo, through various
exhibits and attractions. Along the way, our education tour guides point out interesting
attractions so re recommend you this experience!
