Elvis Aaron Presley was one of the most influential artists of all

time; known as the king of rock or simply the king. Presley


has sold more than one billion records worldwide and holds the
largest number of gold, silver, platinum and multiplatinum
records of any artist in history. Presley is one of the most
recognisable figures in history and his Musical legacy carries
on today. Presley was born on the 8Th of January in 1935 in
Tupelo, Mississippi to Gladys and Vernon Presley. Growing up,
musical genres such as pop, country, gospel, soul and blues,
influenced Presley from a young age. Presleys musical
involvement in church and all-night white and black gospel
sings pushed the young star on the journey to his big career.
Elvis received his first guitar from his parents on his eleventh
birthday and helped his Uncle Johnny Smith and Pastor Frank
Soon after Presley graduated from Humes High School in
Memphis Tennessee, he visited a recording studio which was
home of The Sun Records. Here, in 1953 he recorded his first
demo of My Happiness and Thats When your Heartaches
Begin. During the summer of 1954 Presley joined local
musicians and played around in local clubs and did small time
gigs throughout the South which gained him and the band
moderate success. On October the 16th 1954 Presley and his
band signed a one year contract for the Louisiana Hayride; a
Show and radio broadcast. Among these appearances with
Hay ride, Presley meets Colonel Tom Parker, who eventually
became Elvis exclusive manager for the following of his career.

That same year Presley signed his first contract with RCA
records for $40,000 with a $5000 bonus. In 1956 Presley had
his first recording session with RCA, where he recorded
Heartbreak Hotel on the 10th of January. The Hit sold over
300,000 copies in its first 3 weeks of its release, scoring
Presley his first gold record award. From this moment on
Presley was on his true rise to fame and earned his first
Television appearance on Stage Show starring Tommy and
Jimmy Dorsey on CBS on January 28th 1956. In March that year
