Installation Checklist
The Installation Team is to carry out the Installation in accordance with the Installation
Site Requirements for Flexi NS, Unpacking ATCA Cabinets and Installing ATCA
Hardware included in Nokia Siemens Networks Flexi Network Server Operating
Documentation SAE/MME User Manual.
The Installation Team Supervisor is responsible for:

Ensuring that each team member has the correct tools, installation materials,
and User Manual.
Checking the delivery against the packing list and placing it in Section 3 of the
Site Folder.

Check the availability of the documents needed for installation. Record the
shortages. Acquire the missing documents.
Check the availability of the tools needed for Installation. Acquire missing
tools.
4.2

Check that the installation room is clean. Check that all basic work such as
installation of lighting, fire extinguishing, and air conditioning equipment is
completed.
Check against the floor plan for the site that all cable shelves and gratings
separate from the equipment itself are ready.
Check that the ventilation equipment has been properly installed and that the
temperature in the equipment room is within the limits allowed by the system.

Check that the materials of the floors and desks in the equipment room are
anti-static (EPA). Insure anti-static wrist straps are checked and used by
Installation personnel. Provide anti-static materials and mats where
necessary.
Check the conformance of the room to the Installation floor plan drawing.
Record the differences.
Protect the gangways in the exchange room with cardboard.
Construct, measure, and mark out the positions of the cabinet (rows) and
other equipment on the floor.
Check the routes for external cabling and install cable ladders. Record the
differences to site drawings.
Make the needed additional holes in raised floors. Clean the room. Correct
installation floor plan.

Visually check the transport packages for external damage. Record any
possible damage.
Remove equipment from the transport packages. Check the number of cases
against the packing list. Record shortages.
Unpack the cases.
Inspect equipment for internal or external damage. Record any possible
damage.

Check to insure that isolation pads (i.e., plastic plate) are installed between
the base frame and cabinet, and that the attachment bolts have insulation
washers installed. Then tighten the bolts.
Use an ohmmeter to check that the attachment bolts are not electrically
connected to the base frame, and that no electrical conductivity exists between
the base frame and the floor.
The total leak resistance of all floor rails to the main grounding busbar must be
greater than 100k.

Check that the pre-assembled components are properly attached. The delivery
includes the following pre-assembles components:

Check that the pre-assembled internal grounding cables are properly attached.

grounding rail.
Check that the internal power cables between PDUs and PEMs are properly
connected.
Check that all other pre-assembled internal cabling is properly connected.

Prepare the cables and connectors. Use 45 degree angle cable lugs
Connect the power supply cables (+UB and UB) to the PDU power supply
terminals and secure with the washers and nuts. Tighten the nuts to 5.1Nm.

Switch off the main power supply and the circuit breakers of the PDUs before
installing the blades and other units.
Install the two AHUB3-A Hub Blades to slot 8 and 9 in the shelf.
Install the ACPI4-A CPU Blades and CPRT4-A and CPRT4-B RTMs according to
the configuration. Check that they have been installed firmly, and see that
they have been pushed all the way in and there are no misalignments.
Check that the blade and RTM handles are turned inwards and all screws have
been tightened.
Install a filler unit to every blade and RTM slot or AMC bays that do not contain
a module in the configuration. Most of the filler units are pre-installed at the
factory

COMMISSIONING CHECKLIST
The Commissioning Engineer is to carry out all commissioning tests in accordance with
the Flexi NS Commissioning Procedure, using the Flexi NS User Manual and other
approved reference material. Almadar-Specific Parameters are to be used where
applicable. A signed Certificate of Completion for the Commissioning work must be
included in Section 5.13 of the Site Folder, certifying that the Installation work has
been completed to the required standard. The Commissioning Engineer is responsible
for:
