Skyping a 4th Grade Class in Louisiana
We will see them face to face over the computer and chat about what we are doing for Read Across America Day. This is the first time we are trying this, but hope to continue it if all goes well Usborne Book Read-A-Thon Materials are attached. This is an optional program. Students who participate need to: 1. Read for 30 minutes for 10 days out of 14 – this should happen in school during AR unless they are not in school 2. Find up to 10 sponsors 3. Have each sponsor pledge $10 Students get 50% of the sponsor’s money towards books. There is information attached including a short list of books. More books can be chosen through our classroom catalog or the listed website. If a child participates and does not have any sponsors, they still receive a prize! Also, our school library receives books through this program too!
Spelling List and Buzz Words on One Sheet (attached)
We are using Buzz words that we are studying during our Ruby Bridges and unit on Culture so students have more of a connection. They are all listed on the spelling list.
