China's lunar probe explores deep space

Zhongxing-1A, the satellite, carried by a Long March-3B rocket carrier, blasts off from the Xichang Satellite
Launch Center in the southwestern Sichuan Province, China, Sept. 19, 2011. China has successfully
launched a new communication satellite, Zhongxing-1A, from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center of Sichuan
Province on 0:33 am.
The satellite will be capable of providing communication, broadcasting and data transmission services for
users in regions of China.

Change 2 is a pioneer satellite for the landing on the moon mission and the
second step of Chinas lunar exploration project. Originally, the Change-2 was the
backup of the Change-1.

Flying to the Moon

Introduction of Long March 3C (CZ-3C)

The Long March 3C (CZ-3C) is a large three-stage liquid strap-on carrier rocket. It consists of a CZ-3A,
which is used as the core-stage after being modified, and two liquid roll boosters. The CZ-3C is one of
the Long March 3 series carrier rockets after the CZ-3A and CZ-3B. It is almost the same as the CZ-3B
in terms or their structure and subsystems, except for two roll boosters tied on the first-stage. The
launch of the CZ-3C has broadened the scope for users to flexibly choose the Long March rockets
according to the quality and mission of the payload...

Details about Tiangong I

spacecraft
Weight: about 8 tons
Main body: A short and thick cylinder, with a docking port on its front and rear
ends
Life time: Two years
The two-module structure is adopted, and the two modules are experiment
module and resource module. The experiment module is composed of enclosed
front coneshaped section, cylindrical section and rear coneshaped section. On the
front end of the experiment module there are the docking mechanism and the
measuring & communication equipment, which are used to support the
rendezvous & docking with spaceship. The resource module is to supply the power
necessary for flight.

Authorities in charge of the manned space program unveiled plans to

build a 60-ton space station, made up of three capsules, and develop a
cargo spaceship to transport supplies. Chinas space station is slated to
open around 2020, the same year the International Space Station is
scheduled to close. If the U.S. and its partners dont come up with a
replacement, China could have the only permanent human presence in
the sky.
