LOCATION:

Labour Day (1st May); Anguilla Day (30th May); Whit Monday; Queens
Birthday; August Monday (1st Monday in August); August Thursday; August
Friday; Separation Day (19th December); Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
Overtime can be arranged on these days. Advance notice of 2 hours before
the end of working day preceding the holiday is required.
DELAYS: Delays can be avoided if advance notice of ETA is given at least
one week before scheduled arrival.
TELEPHONES: There are no facilities for placing telephones on board.
NEAREST AIRPORT: Wallblake Airport is approximately 3 miles from
Road Bay and 6 miles from Blowing Point.
BANKS: No banks are situated at the port. However, the Bank of Nova
Scotia is 3 miles away, and the Caribbean Commercial Bank, National Bank
of Anguilla and Barclays Bank are 4 miles away.
CUSTOMS ALLOWANCES: 1 quart of spirits, 4 ozs. perfume and
0.5 lb. of tobacco products.
REPATRIATION: Repatriation arrangements are made through the
Immigration Department.

PORT LIMITS: Port limits are that of the coast and sea contiguous thereto
from the mean of the highest and lowest tides to the seaward edge of the
furthest reef or 1,000 yards seawards where no reef exists.
DOCUMENTS: The following documents are to be presented to Customs
upon arrival:
1 Ships Register.
1 Clearance from last Port.
2 Crew Lists.
2 Passenger Lists.
2 Cargo Manifests.
2 Stores Declarations.
MAX. SIZE: Vessels of 4,000 tons and under or 4.57 m. draft are accepted.
DENSITY: The water at all ports is salt.
RESTRICTIONS: No berthing of vessels to a pier is allowed at night. The
approach to the pier must be clear of anchored vessels at all times.
BRIDGES: There are no bridges at any approaches to Anguilla Ports of
Entry.
PILOTAGE: At present there are no Pilots.
ANCHORAGES: Within 1,000 yards of the shoreline.
PRATIQUE: Customs accept Pratique documents on behalf of the Public
Health Department. In the event of any suspected disease on board, the
yellow flag must be flown. The Public Health and Medical Department will
be immediately contacted. Until their arrival, no person will be allowed to
disembark.
VHF: Communications for ship movements are on Channel 16. Both sea
ports (Blowing Point and Road Bay) are equipped with VHF radio.
TUGS: No tugs in operation at present. Vessels are required to berth
alongside pier using their own lines.
BERTHING: Blowing Point has 2 piers. One is used for off-loading cargo.
The other is used for passengers.
The Cargo Pier accommodates vessels up to 30 tons.
The Ferry Pier accommodates ferries up to 25 tons at present.
The depth alongside the pier at Road Bay is 4.27 m. on the north side and
4.88 m. on the south side.
Loading and off-loading is done by ships gear.
SPECIALISED CARGO FACILITIES: The front end of the pier at
Road Bay is used by barges for off-loading. Vessels with containers can
apply to Haskins Ltd. to assist with off-loading of containers as the company
is equipped with special trucks for handling containers.
TANKER FACILITIES: Coritot Bulk Station is the petroleum port. The
deepest depth is 9.14 m.
CRANES: None at present.
STEVEDORES: There is no organised stevedoring at present. However,
arrangements can be made to hire workers to assist with loading/off-loading
operations. Normal working hours are 0830 hrs. 1200 hrs. and 1300 hrs.
1600 hrs. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, and
Thursdays 0830 hrs. 1200 hrs.
OPENING/CLOSING HATCHES: Opened and closed by the crew.
CARGO GEAR: Loading and off-loading is done by ships gear.
MEDICAL: Medical attention can be obtained at the Cottage Hospital in
the Valley which is approximately 5 nautical miles from Road Bay and
8 nautical miles from Blowing Point. There is also a dental unit in the Valley.
Inoculations and vaccinations can be done at the Hospital or at the Clinic in
South Hill.
FRESH WATER: Fresh water is supplied by the following private water
trucks:
(a) National Trucking.
(b) Charlie Flemings Water Delivery.
(c) Island Transport.
(d) Vanterpools Water Delivery.
The average cost per 1,000 gallon is $135.00.
