CENTRAL COLLEGE SELECTED FOR EARLY SUPPORT EDUCATION

STUDY
(HOBOKEN, NJ Sept. 24) The New Jersey Educational Research Foundation has
chosen Central College as one of five institutions to participate in a four-year pilot study
that will explore long-distance remedial education called Early Support. The program
aims to improve high school students computer skills, writing and English to help
prepare them for college.

The New Jersey Educational Research Foundation selected Central College to partake in
the program due to their demonstrated capabilities in electronic learning. Other
institutions selected for the pilot study are Drew University, The College of New Jersey,
Rider University, and Rutgers University. The New Jersey Educational Research
Foundation and the New Jersey Department of Education jointly fund the study. Central
College together with a local New Jersey high school will develop a curriculum that
meets the needs of the students.

We are thrilled to have been selected for the opportunity to benefit high school students
on their quest for knowledge, said President Leon Dewitt. Its rewarding knowing that
we can enhance high school students educations and benefit the community.

To be designated as a leader in electronic education is a big deal for Central College,

said Director of Academic Computing, Antoine St. Pierre. Being selected for this
program solidifies us as a leader in online education.

The first meeting for participants will occur Oct. 15, 2014 in Trenton, NJ. Vice President
of Special Programs, Katherine Wang, and President Dewitt will attend to discuss
programming and curriculum with college and high school officials.
