Purpose
Use this procedure to manage batch information via the batch information cockpit.
Trigger
Perform this procedure when you need to manage batch information via the batch information
cockpit.

created, purchased, ordered, received, moved within and
between plants and sold.

Plant

A physical definition of a group of manufacturing processes.


Example:

Batch

Number that uniquely assigns a material manufactured in a


lot. The batch material is managed separately from other sets
of the same material. Also, used to describe the running of
multiple non-manual transactions in SAP.

Class

A class is a grouping of similar objects according to common


characteristics.

Top-level unit of control for classes. Each class must be


assigned to exactly one class type. The class type is used to
define a number of parameters in the Classification System.
Specifically, class type is used to form logical grouping of
characteristics, such as characteristics for batch or
configurable materials.
