TEACHERS BEHAVIOR, CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT EXTRA CURRICULAR


ACTIVITIES AND SATUDENTS PERFORMANCE IN DOUBLE-SHIFT CLASSES
ABSTRACT
This study aims to analyze the effect of double shift class to teachers behavior in
extra-curricular activities and classroom management to the students academic
performance in the public secondary schools at the division of Cabanatuan.
Specifically the study will try to answer the following: How may the profile of the
teacher participants be described according to age, Gender, Length of service,
Grade Levels Taught and Sessions Taught; while, profile of the students
respondents ask to Age, Gender, Grade Level, Session and Average Grade?; How
may the respondents describe the implementation of double Shifts Classes in
terms of Extra-Curricular Activities and Classroom Management?; Is there a
significant difference between the students and teachers assessment of Doubleshifts Classes in terms of extra-curricular activities and classroom management?; Is
there a significant relationship between the profile , performance of students and
their assessment form on the implementation of Double-Shift Classes in terms of
Extra-curricular Activities and Classroom Management? And Is there a significant
relationship between the teacher profile and their assessment of the
implementation of Double-Shift Classes in terms of Extra-curricular Activities and
Classroom Management? and is there a significant relationship between the
teacher profile and their assessment of the implementation of double Shifts
Classes in terms of Extra-curricular Activities and classroom management?
The study focused on the students and teachers behavior toward classroom
management and Extra-curricular activities in double shifts classes and its effect in
the academic performance of the students. The average grades of the students are
identified. The respondents are 80 teachers and 300 students of the 4 public
Secondary Schools which are offering double shifts system at the division of
Cabanatuan. The qualitative descriptive method was used in utilizing structured
questionnaire with five rating scale.
The results presented that most of the respondents are young teachers,
female, with 1 to 4 years in service, taught in Grade 7 and 8, both in the morning
and afternoon sessions, Results coincide with most of the studies on gender of
teacher s which revealed that teaching profession really is dominated by females.
The results presented the most of the student respondents are aged fifteen,
female, dominated by fourth year students and attending in the afternoon session.
The collected data also showed the most of the students respondents have an
average grade ranging from eighty five to eighty nine. It is in this context that we

can infer that one of the pivotal causes of limited number of extra-curricular awards
received by the four public secondary schools could have been because of the
students profiling
