Central Indiana employer is looking for a Senior Estimator (Construction projects).

Job order indicates a Bachelors degree is needed but a Veteran with Construction
Battalion experience might have the needed skills and experience. Please refer

Job Description

CSU, Inc.'s Senior Estimator will perform bidding, submittals, purchase orders, invoicing, and
project management for projects that include Municipal Force Mains, Grinder Systems and
Water Mains. The Senior Estimator will demonstrate project management techniques to
manage assigned related projects within schedule, budget, and scope.

ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepares all work to be estimated by gathering proposals, specifications, and related
documents for all assigned projects.
Reviews scope documents and other pre-bid documents of assigned projects to
determine viability, key client standards, and priority material and cost concerns.
Analyzes labor, material, and time requirements to determine all of the appropriate bid
inputs and values for each assigned project.
Effectively manages allotted resources to maximize profit.
Demonstrates high level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, and
other tools to ensure accurate cost calculation.
Develops accurate bids based on all specifications and in accordance with client
standards.
Engages in problem solving techniques to identify key issues and concerns and
propose solutions that will ensure project completion safely, on-time, and within both
budget and scope.
Presents prepared estimate in a professional manner by assembling and displaying
numerical and descriptive information for each assigned project.
Maintains cost data by entering and backing up data at regular intervals for reference
on future projects of similar scope.
Record data and submit reports to management.

Demonstrates a strong adherence to all safety protocols


Ensures all standards are being met and a high level of quality control through
consistent follow up on project details throughout the completion of each assigned
project.
Prepares all daily documentation, including timesheets, and submits in a timely
fashion.
Demonstrates exceptional time management and organizational skills.
Complies with all federal, state, and local laws as well as adheres to all company
policies and procedures.
Actively engages in process improvement, consistently asking questions and
developing or proposing innovative solutions.
Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES


Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field required.
Minimum of 5 years of Construction Industry experience required, 6 or more
years of experience preferred.
Experience with bidding, submittals, purchase orders, invoicing, and / or project
management for municipal, force mains, grinder systems, and /or water mains
required.
Knowledge of Horizontal Drilling and Open Trench Excavation.
Minimum of Intermediate skill level in MS Office, specifically Excel, Word,
Outlook, and PowerPoint, Advanced proficiency preferred.
Experience with MS Project preferred.
