Luther College High School is a

place where students can be
proud of academic success.
The academic program
emphasizes traditional core
subjects while incorporating
innovative approaches and
modern programs. Luther College
High School exceeds the
curriculum established by the
Government of Saskatchewan. In
addition to the required courses,
Luther students must take more
math in Grade 9, a second English
class in Grade 11 and a course in
Christian Ethics for each year of
enrollment.

The Luther school year is made up

of two semesters. Students are
allowed to take a maximum of six
courses per semester. At every
grade level, there are certain
compulsory courses students must
pass. Students may also choose
optional courses to fulfill the
requirements for their
Saskatchewan Grade 12 diploma.
A dedicated teaching sta
challenges students to excel and
discover their gifts. Our welleducated faculty only teaches in
their major or minor disciplines,
and most possess qualifications
that far exceed standard
requirements.

Luther College students complete

high school well-prepared for the
challenges of university because they
receive an education grounded in the
liberal arts tradition. A liberal arts
education includes core subjects such
as English, history, math and science,
as well as electives such as music,
drama, film, other languages and
physical education.

WHAT CAN A LIBERAL ARTS

EDUCATION DO FOR ME?
1. You will develop critical thinking,
speaking and writing skills;
2. You will be educated as a whole
person - intellectually, spiritually,
physically, psychologically and
emotionally;
3. You will develop not only content
knowledge, but also skills;
4. It will provide you with a wide
range of post-secondary choices.
The most eective university prep
school is one with solid grounding
in many disciplines;
5. You will become a fully engaged
citizen. The liberal arts fosters
individual agency and social
responsibility, an appreciation for
traditions and the need to imagine
and create a better future, as well
as a healthy skepticism and a
strong sense of hope and purpose.

LIBERAL ARTS
EDUCATION

a liberal arts education provides

students with a well-rounded, balanced
foundation of knowledge and experience
upon which to draw. Students learn how to
analyze information, think critically,
solve problems, make decisions and
communicate eectively.

Luther College provides a Christian

context in which students learn and
grow. We welcome students from all
faith backgrounds and encourage
them to explore the meaning of faith
in their own lives.
A unique and strong tradition at Luther
is daily chapel, which forms the
foundation upon which Luthers strong
community of support and respect is
built. Chapel encourages students to
explore social and personal morals,
values, and ethical systems, as well as
demonstrate compassion, care,
generosity, acceptance and purpose.

diversity in our international student
body is a rich and vital experience for
all our students. Students are able to
share ideas and experiences with
people from a variety of backgrounds.
These opportunities broaden students
perception of the world, preparing
them to take their place in the "global
