Os pronomes reflexivos exercem basicamente 3

funes:
a) reflexiva
b) enftica
c) idiomtica

FUNO REFLEXIVA: Observe o que acontece com a funo reflexiva:

1.Helen cut the apple. -

Quem cortou?

Helen

O que foi cortado?

a ma (the apple)

Neste exemplo, a ao do verbo recai sobre o objeto. Observe agora esta outra frase:
2. Helen cut herself with a knife. - Quem cortou?

O que foi cortado?

Helen

Neste exemplo, a ao do verbo recai sobre o prprio sujeito (Helen)

FUNO ENFTICA: Observe esta frase:

Agora observe o uso do pronome reflexivo em funo enftica nessa mesma frase:
John himself

ou

himself. (ele mesmo a consertou)

Nestes dois casos o pronome reflexivo himself est sendo usado apenas para dar nfase ao sujeito John. Ele pode
vir logo aps o sujeito ou no final da frase.
