Children of Rwanda
Children of Rwanda is the first
ever charity originating from the
University of Dundee, founded last
year by student Robbie Macmillan
following his visit to Rwanda.
We support the basic rights of
children - education and health.
In January 2015, thanks to Children
of Rwanda, 110 children attended
school and we are processing
payments for basic health care for
their families. But we need your
help! All the funds that you raise
throughout the academic year
directly influence the number of
children we are able to help. Your
efforts will have a visible effect on
the charitys ability to reach out
more children. Today you can make
a difference.

DARE
DARE is a student-run charitable
society aiming to actively support
international development
projects. We raise money during
the academic year through
acoustic nights, bungee jumps and
sponsored cycles. Over the years
we have co-ordinated a range
of summer projects in countries
such as Romania, Guatemala,
Tanzania and Ireland. Each project
is different, including opportunities
to volunteer in schools, summer
camps and malnutrition centres.
Students, participating in projects,
pay for their flights, food and
accommodation; so DARE is proud
to state that all the money raised
by the society goes directly to the
projects abroad.

the audience. Here members are
welcome to speak or just watch.
We also run weekly training sessions
on Tuesdays for those who wish to

years of experience, we offer a mix
of formal training and fun games.
The Debating Union also sends
its members across the country to
take part in and judge at debating
competitions.

Marrow
Dundee Marrow is a society that
likes to make a real difference.
Every 20 minutes, someone in the
UK is diagnosed with blood cancer
and we work to recruit potential
lifesavers to the blood stem cell and
bone marrow register. We also hold
several fundraisers throughout the
year, from running 10Ks and pub
quizzes to bucket shakes and glow
stick sales.
As part of a network of almost 50
Marrow groups across the UK, we
form the student arm of Anthony
Nolan who works to give those with
blood cancer the chance of a cure. 1
in 5 people who go on to donate are
recruited by Marrow.
Help us continue our lifesaving work
and continue to give those with
blood cancer the greatest possible
chance at life.

Maths
Maths. You either love it or you hate
it. But why not try to get along with
it?
Without maths we most definitely
would not be as advanced as we
are. It is all around you whether you
realise it or not. In this society we try
to give you an insight into the huge
world of mathematics. Even if you
just have a small problem that you
would like to solve or something
mathematical in your course that
you are desperately trying to
understand, you are more than
welcome to approach us!
And no, mathematicians are not as
shy as you think.

Mooting
Mooting is a legal debate in a
courtroom setting. Two teams
compete against each other to
present arguments on specific
points of law before a judge - it is
the closest experience that a student
can have whilst at university to
appearing in court but mooting is
beneficial in many areas other than
advocacy. It may also help you to
build confidence in public speaking,
general research and presentation
skills.
The mooting society runs workshops
for interested students to prepare
them for our two annual mooting
competitions with a chance to
represent the University in external
competitions across the UK. This is
balanced with our range of social
events throughout the year including
the popular Winter Ball.

University of Dundee students,
selling thousands of bottles and
holding several successful and
fun events throughout the year.
Following our massively successful
#HealthyStudyDundee campaign,
