A.
Subject Description:
Principles and techniques of caring for normal mothers, infants, children and family and the application of principles and
concepts on family and family health nursing process.
B.
Objectives:
At the end of the course, the students should be able to:
1. Utilize the nursing process in the holistic care of client for the promotion and maintenance of health.
a. Assess with the client his/her health condition and risk factors affecting health.
b. Identify wellness /at risk nursing diagnosis.
c. Plan with client appropriate interventions for health promotion and maintenance of health.
d. Implement with client appropriate interventions for health promotion and health maintenance taking into
consideration relevant principles and techniques.
e. Evaluate with client the process of ones health condition and outcomes of care.
2. Ensure a well-organized recording and reporting system.
3. Observe bioethical principles and the core values (love of God, caring, love country and of people)
4. Relate effectively with clients, members of the health team and others in work situations related to nursing and health.

Grading System:
The Final Grade is computed as follows:
FG = (0.20 x P1) + (0.20 x P2) + (0.20 x P3) + (0.40 x FE)
The 1st Periodical Grade is computed as follows:
First Period Grade = 1/2 CS + 1/2 TE
Class Standing = 30 % (QRAP) + 50% Unit/Long Test + 20 % Conduct (C-A-R-E)
The 2nd Periodical Grade is computed as follows:
Second Period Grade = 1/2 CS + 1/2 TE
Class Standing = 30 % (QRAP) + 50% Unit/Long Test + 20 % Conduct (C-A-R-E)
The 3rd Periodical Grade is computed as follows:
Third Period Grade = 1/2 CS + 1/2 TE
