Discussion centering around: who runs the Kinder & Early Learning, the Maternal &
Child Health Centre, The Playgroup?
Liz: Community House is such that it needs a huge amount of space to operate its
functions, including Mental Health, Educational and Recreational Programs, Social
Workers, Centrelink, Food Share.
Discussions around the suitability of having kids areas close to mental health
areas.
Louise: Need to not overlook the school in the overall picture, as the school needs
to be nurtured so that it is invested in for the future. Need to ensure our school is
the best school in the Village.
Karen: Jarrara owned by the Council who support the Kinder. Kinder do not rent
Jarrara – it is funded by Council.
Ric: Jarrara originally built as a Community Centre, but as kinder took over, space
was not available for community activities.
Liz: Spoke of recent grant application for Community House.
Kinder: Q. Who is supporting the Kinder now that it is located in the school
grounds?
A. Donations are paying for materials & everything. Fees just paying wages
