Dear Calvary Family,

Better Together A Series in Ephesians

September 6 - November 29

A 72-year-long study conducted at Harvard tracked what really

makes people happy. The studys director, George Vaillant, when
asked what has been learned, answered pointedly, That the only
thing that really matters in life are your relationships to other people.

The church is described by Paul in his letter to the

Ephesians as the unified body of Christ, a family, a
community, a household, a nation and a masterpiece.
We are only those things together. And Jesus is what
connects us. Join us Sunday mornings this fall as we
explore how to thrive in life through relationships

And over the last two decades, scientists have discovered that this
truth is even wired into our brains. Researcher Daniel Goleman
summarizes it this way: The most fundamental revelation of
[the discipline of neurobiology is] that we are wired to connect.
Neuroscience has discovered that our brains very design makes it sociable, inexorably
drawn into an intimate brain-to-brain linkup whenever we engage with another person.

Science is discovering what God has already known since the beginning of time. We are
made for relationships. And it is through Jesus Christ that we are able to establish eternal
connections by becoming part of His family.
I invite you to join us Sunday mornings this fall for our series in Ephesians, Better Together,
as we learn to more fully live out our faith, growing in a community of healthy connections.
This core passage, from the Apostle Paul to the believers in Ephesus, describes who we are
as believers in Christ: So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow
citizens with the saints, and are of Gods household, having been built on the foundation
of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the corner stone, in whom the
whole building, being fitted together, is growing into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you
also are being built together into a dwelling of God in the Spirit. Ephesians 2:19-22
We are designed by God to connect with Him and with each other. Within these
relationships, as members of Gods household, we discover the best way to live as we grow
in our faith together. And through that, we are equipped to reach out with the life-changing
message of Jesus to make a difference in the world.
