Dr.

Hayes Wicker, Senior Pastor

Finding the Fountain at Safety Harbor
I was greatly blessed this summer to spend a small amount
of time at both high school and middle school camps, which
were held at Clearwater Christian College. Since the living
quarters there were older, I thought it wise that I stay at a
nearby hotel in a fresher, newer room. I often struggle with
allergies and did not want to lose my voice while speaking
to the students! The hotel turned out to be historical and
beautiful on the bay at Safety Harbor. Ponce de Leon had
supposedly landed in that area hundreds of years ago
looking for The Fountain of Youth. He discovered mineral
springs which seemed like healing waters. Of course, it was better to soak in it
than swallow it and it certainly did not deliver eternal youthfulness.
When God promises, He delivers. He has offered us eternal life in Christ, as
well as abundant life through Him in this world. A Christian is truly blessed in
the here and hereafter, particularly when we become a part of the family of God
in the local church, which is truly a harbor of serenity and security in a stormy
world.
Water Baptism is our own unique fountain as believers as we are immersed
picturing the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. We also picture our
death to the old life and resurrection to the new (Romans 6:3, 4). We walk
in newness of life. We urge you to follow the Lord in believers baptism in
our Beach Worship experience on September 20. The beautiful Gulf and the
private beach are a perfect setting to identify with Christs Body and obey His
command. That is where I get to personally baptize any who wish for me to; I
rejoice when our other pastors get that privilege.
If you would like to learn more about the safe harbor of First Baptist Church,
I urge you to attend the Discovery Dinner on Monday, September 14. This is
always an outstanding time for the staff and me to share our vision, philosophy,
doctrine, and many other things as you get to know us and other leaders in
the church. New members and prospective members are invited to sail into
our harbor and dock. I hope that you will enjoy feasting on the abundance
of Gods house and drinking from the river of His delights, for with Him is the
fountain of life (Psalm 36:8, 9).
Since our world suffers from such a lack of safety and security, we have an
open door to offer Christ to our community. We must undergird our ministry
and undertake to cry out to God for America with prayer (2 Chronicles 7:14).
I urge you to attend an All-church Prayer Meeting at 5:00 pm this Sunday
evening (September 13) in the Chapel. Many of you have talked about the
moral mess in America, now lets do something about it. The prayer meeting
will be followed by a training session for all of those involved in helping with the
new 11:00 Worship Service, beginning September 27. Of course, all things
must be proceeded and permeated with prayer. Unless the Lord watches over
the city, the watchman stays awake in vain (Psalm 127:1).
*There is a guest reception in the Commons following the Saturday night and
Sunday morning worship services. Pastor would love to meet you!

Welcome to First Baptist Church Naples

Begins Saturday, October 3 at 5pm in Room DC111

Bible prophecy makes up one fourth of the written Word of God.

Thus, it is imperative that any serious study of scripture must
include a proper understanding of this important area of Gods
Word. From Genesis to Revelation, the Bible is filled with over
1,000 predictive prophecies. About half of these have already
been fulfilled, indicating that the other half have yet to be fulfilled.
Come join us as we explore Bible prophecy.
