THIS WEEK’S COMMENT
Can you trust God’s Word?
Can we trust every part of the Bible?
Are some parts more accurate than others?
I say we need to trust all of it or we are just
playing church. If we don’t trust what God’s
word says in every area, we might as well
forget church. Sunday indoor bowls might
be good. Craft and motivational speaking on
Tuesday for the ladies; the men could
discuss politics over breakfast each month.
Without God’s word, we are no different
from any other community group.
My sermon last Sunday night was based on
this. In particular, I spoke about how I
believe God’s word can be totally trusted in
what it says about the creation of every-
thing we see around us.
It seems, on the surface, that we cannot
trust the Bible in some of these areas. If
you do a bit of digging, though, you find that
it can be trusted after all.
The Bible comes out the winner every time,
so we need to learn by the mistakes of those
that went before us and trust that God
meant every word.
God does not lie.
