Stolen boat recovered Community

Tuesday morning, Merritt RCMPP

were alerted to an erratic driver westbound on the Connector near Brenda
Mine. When they attempted to conduct a
stop, the 2012 Chev Silverado, pulling a
boat, fled from police. They were able to
deploy a spike belt & partially disable the
vehicle, which was later found abandoned in town. Soon after, they located
the driver on foot and he fled again, but
after a short foot chase he was arrested.
Police found that both the truck & boat
had been stolen. The 35-year old man
faces charges of possession of stolen
property over $5000, flight from police,
dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
and impaired driving. He also has several outstanding warrants from BC & AB.

a hospital in Seattle, and will have to
hobble down the aisle at his wedding in
