Services Delivered
The Company take extreme pride in the fact that in all the above mentioned projects
which include both RMC supplies and Piling works, it has been able to achieve
complete customer satisfaction by delivering works within budget & schedule while
conforming in totality with the Quality & SHE standards of DMRC which are the
current benchmarks for any Construction Project in India.
Apart from the above, we are now venturing into works like manufacture of
reinforcement to shapes, lengths & sizes as required by the Bar Bending schedule,
preparation and laying of Wet Mix Macadum, Fabrication and Handling of Barricades.
RVAGIL can therefore offer its services to you in the following areas of works where it
provides a complete package:
i. Production & Supply of Concrete including pumping and placing
ii. Installation of Bored Cast In Situ Piles
iii. Manufacture of Reinforcement as per drawing
iv. Preparation & Laying of Sub-base & Base (Wet Mix Macadam -WMM)
v. Fabrication & Handling of Barricades
A brief write up describing the technical aspects and detailing our responsibilities for
the above mentioned items of work follows:
The mix design for various grades of concrete is normally provided by the Client,
however RVAGIL provides fully functional laboratory and complete technical back for
designing the various grades of concrete.
Transit mixers will carry the concrete upto the place of pouring. Concrete pouring may
be done in different methods e.g. boom placer, concrete pump, crane-bucket
arrangement, through steel chutes and manually.
Number of Batching plants will vary as per project requirement. The plant will have
adequate arrangement of cement and admixture storage, water vat, aggregate bins etc.
Cement go-down of suitable size to accommodate 15 days stock shall be set up and
consumption will be monitored to follow first in first out system.
On receipt of requisition from respective site engineer, laboratory in-charge will hand
over the mix proportion data to batching plant operator who will input the data to the
system and start production of concrete.
The loaded transit mixer will be directed towards pouring point for final discharge.
Each transit mixer will carry a delivery record containing all relevant information
regarding mix proportion, vehicle no., quantity, time, and also a column for remarks
like re-dosing of admixture, addition of water, if any at site etc to be noted.
Transit mixer of capacities ranging from 4 cu.m. to 6 cu.m. will be used for
transportation of ready mix concrete at site from Batching plant to pouring point.
Boom placer & concrete pumps will be used for cement concrete placement. For
locations where direct placement of concrete is not possible, "Elephant Trunks",
M.S.Chute etc., will be used with suitable drops.
Installation of Bored Cast In Situ Piles
• Measuring cylinder,
• Mud Balance Hydrometer
• Marsh cone
• Weighing balance
• Hot plate
• pH papers
Sodium based bentonite will be used with pH of Fluid between 9.5 and 11.5. Bentonite
powder shall conform to requirements given in IS: 2911 (Part -1/Sec -2). All batches of
bentonite powder delivered & suspension fluid made there from shall be tested to
satisfy requirements failing which they shall be rejected.
Bentonite powder shall be mixed with clean water to make a suspension of density as
specified. The suspension shall be regularly tested to ensure its suitability for use as
drilling mud.
Concrete as per approved mix design will be supplied from centralized batching plant
for all piles. Slump test will be done to check the workability of Tremie Concrete &
Concrete. The Concrete shall generally be poured with minimum interruption.
Grade, length, diameter etc. shall be as per design requirement shown on relevant
drawings. Concrete cover blocks to ensure proper concrete covering shall be tied to
rings of the cage.
Setting of Piling Rig: Rig will be centered on pile point. Drilling will be carried out
using auger/bucket to a depth of approx. 2 to 3 meters. Then a temporary MS casing for
about 4 to 6 m (approx) length from the ground level will be driven to protect loose soil
from falling in the bore hole at locations where the soil is in loose state and there is a
tendency of collapse of bore hole. After driving the casing its verticality will be checked
by plumb bob.
Boring of Piles: The excavation is generally performed by rotation using a rotary drill,
composed of a rotary table.
Borehole Stabilization: During the entire operation, the pile bore will be kept stable
with bentonite solution.
Determination of Density: The bentonite sample from the bottom of borehole will be
collected and its density will be measured by Hydrometer having a range of 1.001 to
1.300 gm/ml.
Reinforcement Fixing: Pile reinforcement cage shall be fabricated as per the details
given in drawing and Bar Bending Schedule.
Flushing the Borehole: After cage lowering is completed the bore will be flushed with
Bentonite Flushing shall be done continuously with bentonite till consistency of bottom
slurry becomes less than 1.20.
Concreting: Minimum time interval between the completion of boring and placing of
concrete will be maintained. The gap between the bottom of the bore to the end of
tremie pipe will be min 300mm. The dia of the tremie pipe will be not less than 200mm.
The Tremie pipe shall be removed in stages during pouring of concrete ensuring that the
Tremie bottom is always inside the concrete.
Manufacture of Reinforcement as per drawing
Bar Bending & Cutting machines of required capacities would be set up in the Client’s
work yard inside a covered shed that would function as a reinforcement factory. The
factory will also be equipped with necessary tables for working, electricity, other tools
as required and overhead EOT if so required.
Normally full length reinforcement bars would be procured by the client and issued to
us.Reinforcement will be cut, bend and manufactured to required lengths, shapes and
sizes as per the approved Bar Bending schedule which shall be provided to us.
The reinforcement thus manufactured will be tagged off mentioning the length, drawing
no, structure identification etc and will be stacked in a designated location for
transportation to the construction site as per the schedule provided to us.
Preparation & Laying of Sub-base & Base (Wet Mix Macadam -WMM)

1. Sieve analysis.
2. Los Angeles abrasion.
3. Aggregate impact value.
4. Combined flakiness & elongation indices.
5. Blending (Mix Design).
6. Modified proctor density.
7. Liquid limit & plasticity index of portion through 425 micron sieve.
Each layer will be compacted with 10 T Vibro Roller, to achieve required degree
of compaction i.e. 98% of modified density. The areas not accessible to roller will be
compacted with plate compactor/ or mini rollers.
Top surface will be checked for its designed levels, before & after compaction &
material will be removed or added as required.
Surface finish and quality control of work: - Segregated material will not be
allowed to be placed. The tolerance on levels shall not exceed 12 mm and deviation
from 3000mm straight edge shall not exceed 10mm.
Rectification of defects: After final compaction, surface will be checked for its
finish and top levels. Any segregated material like only coarse or only fine will be
removed and the pocket will be filled with premixed material.
While checking the top surface levels it may be necessary to remove excess material or
to add material.
Barricade Boards, which demarcate the working area from the traffic movement
corridor, would be fabricated, painted & marked as per the drawings and specifications.
The fabricated barricade boards would be installed in position and locked.
Re-handling of barricades by lifting from the previously installed positions and placing
at the new locations would be carried out as per the requirement of the client.
Maintenance, repainting and cleaning of the installed barricade boards would be carried
out.
As always we promise state of the art equipment, transparent, honest and diligent
service and a product conforming to schedule, budget and the strictest standards of

PREFACE
It is said that the world is different on paper creating and this something is realized in the two
months of my summer training. The knowledge that I gained form the text is useful only if we
implement it in practical life.
The project was one such experience where I got to implement what I had studied in books. The
project ‘RVAGIL - Scope and Overview’ has been very extensive.
I would like to say that I am feeling overwhelmed and privileged to present the report that is
my first work in the corporate world.
I would like to pay my sincere thanks to all those who gave me constructive suggestions for the
improvement of all the aspects related to this project.
In particular, I would like to thank Mr. H.C. Joshi for assisting me to carry on project work. I
