Intentionally act that causes fear of inmminent


harmful of offensive touching. Can occur even if
the contact never occurs.

Bill Cosby has been accused of sexual


assault by many women, though he has
never been formally criminally charged.

Battery

Intentionally physical contact or offensive


touching, where the victim has not given
consent to be touched.

Tortfeasor

The young boy was sentenced to one


year in prison for the battery he had
perpetrated.

Bribery

Trying to make somebody do something you


want by giving them money, presents, etc.

We citizens are creating more and more


scoundrel officers by committing bribery
in order to avoid paying the speeding
ticket.

Burglary

Stealing from houses and flats.

Burglar

I still can't believe the boys were


acquitted of the charges for burglary.
They came into my house, stole my
things and they won't be punished.

Child Abuse

Any action that results imminent risk or serious


harm, death, serious physical or emotional
harm, sexual abuse or explotation of a child by a
parent, caretaker or any person that is
responsible for the child's welfare.

If there's a crime that really grabs my


attention, it is child abuse. How could
anyone be so mean to children?

Anything that shows a minor (under 18 years of

entrusted to the person's (criminal) care. Usually
involves taking money from an agent or
employee.

Embezzlement of public funds is very


frequent in national goverment around
the world.

Commiting an act of restraint on another person


which confines that person in a bounded area.

Protestant claimed that they have faced


false imprisonment when they showed
they were against the company.

False Pretenses

Obtaining someone else's property by telling lies


or making misrepresentations. Pretends to
obtain title to the personal property of another
or defraud the other person.

It is not common for elders to be a victim


of false pretenses provided they lived so
long and have gone through all the lies
people may tell in order to defraud them.

Forgery

Creating, altering, forging, or imitating any


document with the intent to defraud another
person.

Forger

There are many victims of forgery in


Argentina that not only have lost their
house and got no payment for it, but also
couldn't caught the criminal due to the
fake documents he provided.

Fraud

Obtaining money illegally, usually by using


clever and complicated methods

Fraudster

I wonder if there actually are people who


take so much time to plan a fraud as in
movies

Due to the accusation of fraud, police


officers raided the man's house and
found out he had many illegal guns. They
charged him with gun possession.

Gun Possession

Illegar possession of a gun.

Harassment

Any kind of behavior that is intended to annoy,


disturb, alarm, torment, upset or terrorize
someone.

Harasser

The girls were victims of harassment by


an anonymous who would terrorize them
every day for several years.

Kidnapping

Taking a person by using violence, often in order


to get money for returning them.

Kidnapper

Witness of the kidnapping have given key


evidence to the police about the
crimnal's appearence.

Looting

Stealing from shops or homes that have been


damaged in a war, natural disaster, etc.

Looter

In the middle of the earthquake alarm,


some rebel young boys perpetrated
looting.

Manslaughter

Illegall killing of another person. It's not


considered murder because of a surrounding or
mitigating circumstance.

Reginald and Esther Gough were charged


with manslaughter for their foster son's
death.

Laundering

Making money gotten from illegal means though


it looks as it has been obtained through a
legitimate manner.

It's said that the actual goverment of


Argentina has committed money
laundering.

Mugging

Using violence to steal from somebody in a


public place (a street, a park, etc.).

Mugger

I noticed there was a mugging being


executed and insead of helping the poor
girl I ran like coward.

Murder

Killing somebody intentionally.

Murderer

The murder of the actress has been in


the news for hours. I hope they find the
killer.

Pickpocketing

Stealing things out of pockets or bags secretly.

7 persons out of 10 have been a victim of


pickpocketing.

Drunkenness

Being intoxicated in a public place, even if the


drunkard is of the legal drinking age.

Police officers charged the group of


adolescent with public drunkenness.

Rape

Forcing another person to have sexual


intercourse with the offender against their will. It
is typically commited by a man.

Rapist

The man surrounded by cops has


commited two rapes.

Receiving Stolen
Property

Accepting property that it's known or believed


was obtained through theft.

I didn't know that receiving stolen


property is as serious as theft We
should pay attention to who we are
buying things from.

Resisting Arrest

Interfering with law enforcements attempt to


perform a lawful arrest, using an amount of
physical force.

He has been in prison for resisting arrest.


So fool of him!

Robbery

Stealing from people and banks.

Robber

My favourite movie is about a robbery


that takes place in the biggest bank of
NYC.

Shoplifting

Stealing things from a shop while it is open.

You may be amazed if you knew how


many shoplifting are committed per day.

Smuggling

Taking things illegally from one country to


another.

Smuggler

A group of mexican inmigrants were


caught up smuggling at the JFK
International Airport.

Solicitation

Asking, requesting, hiring, commanding, or


encouraing someone else to commit a crime.

She has an accusation of solicitation


because a witness saw her giving money
to the killer.

Stalking

Intentionally and repeatedly following, harassing


or watches another person.

Stalker

Years ago, Stalking was not a very


common crime but that has change over
the years. There's even a TV series about
it now.

Statutory Rape

Occurs when someone over the age of consent


has sex with someone below the age of consent.

Statutory rapist

I warned Sally that she shouldn't have


sex with her boyfriend because he hasn't
turned eighteen yet, otherwise she could
be accused of statutory rape.

Terrorism

The use of violence such as bombing, shooting,


etc. for political reasons.

Terrorist

The acts that took place on September


11th in the USA were acts of terrorism by
the terrorist group al-Qaeda.

Thief

The only crime that it's talked in school is


theft because it's the most common and
it may occur there. But I think they
should talk about all of them and warn
the kids.

My neighbours had gone on vacation and


told me that nobody was going to go to
their house during their trip. One day I
saw a strange boy diving in their
swimming pool, so I inmmediately called
the police and reported a trespassing.
