T h e provisions of t h e Andhra ~ r a d e s h
(Andhra Area) D i s t r i c t Bbaxds A c t , 1920,
provides for l e v y of land c e s s in e v e r y
d i s t r i c t on
all
occupied
lands on
whatever tenure held and it s h a l l consist
of a t a x of twelve p a i s e i n t h e r u p e of
t h e annual rent value of the land in t h e ,
Mandal. Furtherr according to t h e provisions of the Andhra Eradesh (Telangana
Area) D i s t r i c t Boards A c t , 1955, a l o c a l
c e s s of twelve naya paise on e v e - q rupee
l a n d revenue payable - t o the Government
s h a l l be l e v i e d . Now, the Government
have deci'ded t o drop the c o l l e c t i o n ' of
land c e s s and l o c a l cess.

In order to achieve the above objective, it h a s been proposed to d e l e t e the

relevant
sections
dealing
with
the'
c o l l e c t i o n of land c e s s and l o c a l c e s s
by amending t h e Andhra Pradesh (Andhra
Area) D i s t r i c t Boards A c t , 1920 and t h e
Andhra Pradesh ( T e l a n g a n a A r e a ) D i s t r i c t
Boards,,'Act, 1955 s u i t a b l y .
This B i l l s e e k s to g i v e e f f e c t to t h e
abovedecision.
