1.1.
Scope: The specification covers minimum performance requirements and guidelines for
procurement of Bow-Spring Casing Centralizers.
1.2.
Application: To be used with 5 1/2" to 20" casing sizes in 8 1/2" to 26" hole sizes to
facilitate running casing to the desired depth and then to assist in centering the casing in
the bore hole.

Constructional Features & Painting:
3.2.1. Centralizer shall consist of Bow Springs and End Collars.
3.2.2. Bow Springs:
3.2.2.1 Bow Springs shall be made from high quality spring steel, processed in one piece and
formed by sequential heat treatment resulting in a high strength and flexible bow.
3.2.2.2 Bow Springs shall have a Straight or Double Crested Profile.
Note 1. Indenter to specify the bow profile i.e. straight or Double Crested taking into
consideration Well Bore Profile i.e. vertical or Deviated Wells.
Note 2. Double Crusted Bow has more advantage over Straight Bow in deviated wells
which are mentioned below:
(i)
The Double Crusted Profile provides less Starting & Running Forces with low Drag
Force and high Restoring Force as compared to Straight Crested Profile.
(ii)
Double Crested Profile is ideally suited for running in horizontal and highly deviated wells
where low Running Force is a must.
(iii)
Double Crested Profile Centralizers attain higher stand-off because of its higher
Restoring Force.
3.2.2.3 Different Spring Bow Heights shall be available to accommodate most casing to hole
Configuration.
Note: Indenter to specify casing and hole size combination.
