Arrange the above data in BIP format (Use the table given below).
Calculate the minimum, maximum, mean, median, mode and standard deviation of both
bands of data.
Draw the histogram of both the bands.
Draw the scatterplot of the above data with Band 1 on x-axis & Band 2 on y-axis and
comment on its shape.
The table below gives the location of training samples of some of the features on the ground for
the image data set given above.

(b) (8,2)
(c) (7,4)

3. Given below are raster maps of various informations available in a location. The grid size of
the pixel is 20m. Attributes of the different maps are given below:-

Soil Map
(i)

There are three types of soil in the area. Sandy soil is designated as 1, alluvium type as 2
and clay type soils as 3.
Only sandy and alluvium type of soils are good for providing tube wells.
On sandy type of soils, pile foundations are to be provided for buildings, for alluvium
type of soils, raft foundations are to be provided, while on clay type of soil, simple
foundation is to be provided.

(ii)
(iii)

Ground Water Table depth Map

(i) There are three ground water table (GWT) depth, where 1 indicates depth of GWT upto
5m, 2 indicates GWT depth between 5 to 15 m and 3 indicates GWT depth greater than 15m.

Urban Area Map

(i)

Urban area is designated as 2 and 0 indicates non urban area.

Water Pipe line Map

(i) 1 indicates the location of the main water pipe line.
Land use Map
(i)
Barren land = 0
(ii)
Grass land = 1
(iii)
Agriculture = 2
(iv)
Forest land = 3
Generate the raster maps as per the given conditions given below:(i)
On the foundation map mark the urban area where raft type of foundation is to be provided
giving its area extent.
(ii)
From the water pipeline only 40m pipelines can be drawn. Mark on the water supply deficit
map the area which will have water supply through tube wells. Also give it area.
(iii)

Mark on the land suitability map the following

a)
All urban area having sandy
soil on barren land with a + symbol and its area extents.
b)
All urban area having clay type with agriculture with a symbol and its area extents.
