GRAMMAR
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Grammar Point #1 - Goodbye -
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (annyeonghi gaseyo) means "goodbye" and it is used in situations when
someone is leaving. Literally the phrase means "go peacefully." As this phrase contains the
word "go" ( - gada), this would only be suitable to use when someone is actually leaving.
This can be leaving at an airport (as was the case in this conversation), going home, going to
another location. Anytime someone is simply going, this is the phrase used to say "goodbye."
If both people are going, this would also be the phrase to use. (annyeonghi
gaseyo) is in the standard politeness level (below are more examples of different politeness
levels).
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Grammar Point #2 - Goodbye -
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (annyeonghi gyeseyo) means "goodbye" and is used in situations when the
speaker is the one leaving. Literally the phrase means "stay peacefully." As this phrase
contains the word "stay" ( - gyesida), this would only be appropriate to use when the
listener is literally staying. In this conversation, Garcia used this phrase towards Kim Su Han
because Garcia was the one leaving, and Kim Su Han was the one staying.
(annyeonghi gyeseyo) is in the standard politeness level (below are more examples of
different politeness levels).

Formal

Intimate
For the intimate politeness level, (annyeong) is used for both "stay peacefully" and "go
peacefully." (annyeong) is also used for saying "hello" as well. This word is in the
intimate politeness level and is used among people on close terms.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Grammar Point #3 - Me, too -
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (jeodoyo) is used just like it's English counterpart "Me too," or "Me as well." Whenever a
statement is made, and the same statement holds true for the speaker, the speaker can say
(jeodoyo) to express that it holds true for him/her. (jeodoyo) is in the standard
politeness level. In the intimate politeness level it is (nado).
