[edit] Music Career

Atul Gogavle & Ajay Gogavale are the sons of Mr. Ashok Gogavale who works in Revenue
Department in Pune. They were both born in Rajgurunagar,Pune,Maharashtra,India. Atul born on
11 September,1974 & Ajay on Ajay-21 August 1976 in Pune Atul being the elder one. As their
father was on regular transfers their primary education was completed in Rajgurunagar & Shirur.
They come from zero musical background.Although they were not supported by their family
directly, they were never denied any assistance. As this family could not afford the instruments
for their musical brought up, they started their musical ventures through their
school, temples, local bands etc. although they did not get direct training through this they learnt
lot through these ventures. As they couldn't afford any instruments they would befriend the
people who owned instruments like Harmonium,Mrudung,Dhol etc. Later during college they
started working with local bands as arrangers. Their father brought them a Keyboard after
persuasion by their mother. This proved to be one of their greatest gifts. He said "You have not
been given any toys during childhood, now this is your toy.!!". This inspired them & they started
experimenting.
Later on they came to Mumbai & started working on International Non-Filmy Music Album
"Vishwavinayaka". This proved to be a big break for them & paved for them a way into Indian (
mostly marathi ) Music industry. There they worked for lots of commercial jingles, ballets &
Advertisements for strengthening their profiles. They got National Award for Best Music
Director for movie 'Jogwa' at the 56th National Awards. This is one of their greatest
achievements.
