POSTGAME NOTES
Iowa (3-0) defeated Pitt (2-1), 27-24, Saturday at Kinnick Stadium.
Iowa improves to 7-4 all-time in night games in Kinnick Stadium. Iowa hosts Minnesota Nov. 14 in
the 12th night game at Kinnick Stadium.
The Hawkeyes improved to 3-0 for the first time since 2009. Iowa has advanced to a bowl game
every season it has started 3-0 (2001, 2003, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2015).
The win is Iowas second this season against a Power Five school (Iowa State, Pitt). Northwestern
is the only other conference team with two wins this season over Power Five schools (Stanford,
Duke).
PK Marshal Koehn hit a 57-yard field goal as time expired to give Iowa a 27-24 win. It is Iowas
first walk-off win since Marvin McNutt caught a seven yard pass as time expired to defeat
Michigan State, 15-13, in 2009.
INDIVIDUAL SUPERLATIVES
PK Marshal Koehn hit a 57-yard field goal as time expired to give Iowa a 27-24 win. The field goal
is a career long, the second longest in school history, and ties the Kinnick Stadium record (57,
Lee Pistor, Arizona, 9/24/77). Koehn was 2-for-2 on field goals (43, 57) and 3-for-3 on PATs. He has
98 career points. He has made seven straight field goal attempts, and 15 of his last 16. He is 7for-8 in his career on attempts 40 yards or longer. Koehn also punted for the first time in his
career. He had one punt for 64 yards. Four of his five kickoffs were touchbacks.
QB C.J. Beathard is 4-0 as Iowas starting quarterback, a record that includes a 2-0 mark on the
road and a 2-0 mark at home. Beathard set career bests in completions (27), attempts (40), and
yards (258). He also rushed for a touchdown, his third this season
DB Desmond King had interceptions on Pitts first two possessions. It was his second and third
interceptions of the season, and the fifth and sixth of his career. He is the first Hawkeye with two
interceptions in a game since John Lowdermilk at Purdue in 2014.
RB Jordan Canzeri scored on a four-yard rush in the second quarter to give Iowa a 17-7 lead.
Canzeri has rushed for a touchdown in each of Iowas three games this year. He entered the
season with two rushing touchdowns in 29 career games.
RB Jordan Canzeri caught seven passes for 30 yards. The seven catches are a career best. He has
six straight games with at least one reception (17 catches and 196 yards during that stretch).
Canzeri had a team-high 12 carries for 49 yards.
WR Tevaun Smith hauled in a 51-yard reception in the first quarter to surpass 1,000 career
receiving yards. He is the 37th player in program history with 1,000-plus receiving yards. Smiths
1,067 career receiving yards ranks 36th all-time in school history.
TE Henry Krieger-Coble caught a career high five passes for career best 48 yards.
WR Jacob Hillyer matched his career-high with two catches for a career-best 52 yards.
LB Cole Fisher led the team with a career-high 12 tackles. SS Miles Taylor set a career-high seven
tackles, and DL Nathan Bazata matched his career-high with three tackles. DE Nate Meier had six
tackles and matches his career best with two tackles-for-loss.

MISCELLANEOUS
Pittsburgh won the toss and deferred. Iowa received the opening kickoff. In 17 seasons as Iowas
head coach, Kirk Ferentz and the Hawkeyes received the opening kickoff in 165-203 games (9867). Iowa has started the game on defense in 38-of-203 games under Ferentz (20-18).
The Hawkeyes have played 59 consecutive games without a missed or blocked PAT, the longest
streak of any school in the nation. Iowa has converted on 179 consecutive PATs during the streak.
