Middle School
Weekly Publication for Middle School Parents ISSUE # 28
WEEK OF MARCH 15 TO 19, 2010

From the Middle School Office

Dear Parents:

On Tuesday, March 16 we will have Parent Teacher Conferences. Students will be dismissed at 11:30 A.M.
and there will be no afterschool MS activities. Please make the necessary transportation arrangements so that
your child is picked up no later than 12:00 noon.

Grade 5 will be conducting student-led conferences and information has been sent through the Homebase. For
grades 6 – 8, conferences will be held in the MS Gym and will follow an arena-style model. We strongly
encourage you to check PowerSchool and discuss your child’s assignments, progress and level of achievement
with them. If you have major concerns about your child’s progress, please plan to attend. More specific
information regarding parent-teacher conferences is contained in a separate letter within this week’s parent
bulletin.

Looking ahead…ISM has the honor of being the first school to host the 8th EARCOS (East Asia Regional
Council of Overseas Schools) Teachers Conference from March 25th to 28th, 2010. Well-known presenters
and hundreds of teachers will be gathering to share their knowledge and experiences, and it provides an
invaluable venue for the exchange of ideas. In order to maximize the experience for our teachers and visiting
international school educators, students will be released from classes at 12:00 noon on Thursday, March 25,
which will signal the start of spring break. Please mark your calendars

Have a relaxing weekend!

Sincerely,

Danielle Fredericks Clarissa Sayson
