opportunities for pupils with the help
of a specialist teacher, Mrs Heys, who
is working with us closely at the
moment. Mrs Heys will be working with
children in Years 1, 2 and 3 to design
and create a new school garden
adjacent to Year 3 classroom which
will include a plastic bottle greenhouse
and a vegetable plot. Please keep

Scooters
For safety reasons, please do not let your child ride
their scooter on the playground.

Crossing the road

Our children are trained to wait for a gap in the
traffic before crossing Wychnor. Parents sometimes
kindly stop to let them cross but, as we have found
out in the past, drivers behind are not so patient and
may try to overtake you, putting the children in
danger as they walk across the road. Please drive
past with care. Thank you.

Citizen of the World

This week we have visited the
Rugby World Cup.

Socrates
This week Socrates is asking Year 4
the following question:
Would you rather live in the past
or the present?

Summer Reading Challenge

Well done to all those children who read lots of
books over the summer holidays. Last chance to
bring in Summer Reading Award sheets is
tomorrow morning. I will give out stickers and
small prizes at our Star Assembly on Friday.

Reception class photograph

The Lancashire Evening Post usually give parents
the option to purchase the class photograph at a
reduced rate if purchased through school. We will
let you know when the photo is available. The LEP
should also be letting us know when the photo will
appear in the paper.
From 1 October 2015, private vehicles in England
and Wales must be smoke free if they are
enclosed, there is more than one person present
and one of them is under 18. It will be an offence:
for a person of any age to smoke in a
private vehicle carrying someone under 18
for a driver (including a provisional driver)
not to stop someone smoking in these
circumstances.
