Dear alumni of the
department:
It is my pleasure to bring out the update information of the department for the last 12
months through this department newsletter to you.
I request all the alumni to give suggestions on various programs in the department.
Your suggestions will be analyzed and will be implemented in the department.

Forward Plan
We have designed a Three-year forward plan for the progress of our department in the
following directions.

Labs up gradation

R & D work in thrust areas

Introducing new courses at PG level

Development & strengthening of core competency

Facilities for students and staff.

Technical Event

ECE-NEWS LETTER

A National Level Technical Paper Presentation and Projects Display contest

e-jive was organized by ECE department Association with active
participation of students. This event was organized on 25th jan 2008 in
college premises. This symposium included four events

Paper Presentation
Poster Presentation
Project display contest
Quiz contest

Huge response is received. Out of 450 papers 44 were selected for paper
presentation 26 was selected for poster presentation, 33 were selected for
project exhibition and 8 team were selected for quiz.
Dr.P,Mallikarujuna Prasad, professor in JNTU , Prof Mrs. Ratna kumara, and
Prof.Sridevi HOD of ECE in sripakash college were the judges for this
program.

Association Activities
Association of Electronics & Communication Engineers (AECE)
AECE provides a platform to all the students to develop their technical
skills and in turn it is showing a way to the students to develop their
knowledge in communication and in new technologies.
Group Discussion was conducted on topics like, Is Dress Code
Necessary"?," Engineering a complete professional package.
Freshers Party by Seniors to juniors on oct 12th and A Farewell Party to
the final year students was given by juniors on 8th April, 2008.
Different and intra institutional events are organized by AECE.

Facilities Created
Embedded Systems and related software(licensed) from M/s Vi
Microsystems Pvt ltd. Chennai, with an investment of Rs. 1,12,716 is
procured. This is required in New Embedded Systems Laboratory for final
year B.Tech CSE & IT students and also for M.Tech and MCA. It also helps
students at Graduation & Post Graduation level to carry on research work
in the areas of Microcontrollers & RTOS
The Lab also designed so as to be useful for final year students for
projects.

Faculty Development
Ms.Assoc Prof Ms.Binny have attended a 3 day workshop on Matlab
at gayatri vidhya parishad, vishakapatnam during 18 to 20 Feb 2008
Mrs.K.Rama Devi, Assoc Prof & Mrs.P.Sunitha Asst.Prof have
attended one day workshop on Mathematics on DSP at GIET
Rajamundry.
Ms.K.Satyasree Asst.Prof Attend a One week workshop on Faculty
development at INFOSYS Hyderabad.

Industrial Visit
An Industrial tour was organized during 27th Nov to 6th Dec 2007 for
students of III B.Tech and they visited UTL( United Telecom Limited),
B.H.E.L, Microsoft, INFOSYS, at Bangalore. Mr.V.Prasanth, Asst Prof
and Mr.Prasad Asst. Prof accompanied and guided them.
One day industrial visit was organized for students of II & III B.Tech
to paper Mills Rajamundry and Doordarshan Relay Station, B.S.N.L at
Kakinada.

Campus Placement for Academic Year

2008
The efforts of placement officer have brought many MNC companies to the campus
for the recruitment. All the student development activities implemented in the department
have helped the students in getting campus placements.
