Center Field on Port Street.

This is THE weekend of the year. Tonight Bayfest '76 opens in Corpus Christi and for three
days the bayfront will resound with happy
sounds.
What's the best thing about Bayfest? It's
FREE. A six-block area along North Shoreline
from Belden to Brewster streets has been roped
off for the festival which begins at 6 p.m. today
and ends Sunday evening.
There will be 40 food booths, special exhibit
areas (including a kids' area) and tents and
three stages where musicians, actors and danc'ers will perform continuously throughout the festival.
Toe official opening is Saturday at 11 a.m. but
the fun begins tonight when special guest Rosie
Grier, football player, actor and needlework artist extraordinaire will mingle with the music
lovers at the performances.
To help you make the most of this weekend of
fun take along the entertainment schedule below
- but don't spill any ketchup, mustard, taco
sauce, beer, barbecue sauce, corn butter, Coke,
pickle juice, Greek pastry flakes or whatever on
it. And remember, in addition to the staged
events, there are art and heritage exhibits, children's games, a petting zoo and souvenirs for
sale.
Park your car and take one of the shuttle buses
which will run every 15 minutes from pickup
points along the bayfront. You can catch the bUll
at Memorial Coliseum, the Sheraton Marina Inn,
The Boat Shop, the Corpus Christi Tourist Bureau and the Holiday Inn-Emerald Beach. Buses
will run from 5:30-11:30 p.m. today, 10:30 a.m. to
11:30 p.m. S~turday and on Sunday from 11:30
a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

To Be - You and Me."

Whereabouts
Bayfest ' 76 will be located on a six block site on the
beautiful Corpus Christi Bayfront from the Bayfront
Arts and Science Park to Interstate 37 on Shoreline
Drive. Open Friday October I, 1976 at 6 p.m. until
II p.m. Saturday October 2, 1976 from II a.m. to
II p.m. and Sunday October 3, from 12 noon to 8
p.m. Official opening ceremony will be held on the
main stage at II lm. Saturday.
