Traffic Impact Report for October 5


through October 9
Bowling Green, Ky. (October 2, 2015 )The
expected traffic impacts for October 5 through
October 9 are listed below. The Kentucky
Transportation Cabinet District 3 services the
following counties Allen, Barren, Butler, Edmonson,
Logan, Metcalfe, Monroe, Simpson, Todd and
Warren. All work is subject to change.
I-65
Tennessee
o There will be lane closures on I-65 both
directions near mile marker 119 in order to
set barrier walls for the construction of a
new interchange for SR 109 and US 31W on
October 2 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. This

project is close to the Kentucky line and


more impacts are expected when the
project gets further underway.
Allen County
KY100- The Bridge over Long Creek mile point
22.4 will be down to one 12' lane with a
temporary traffic signal for painting and
cleaning of the bridge. This lane closure will be
in place throughout the month of September.
Barren County
KY 90- (Between Adam McCreary Road
and KY 839) Earthwork and paving
operations will continue. Expect an increase in
construction traffic and intermittent flagging
operations. Motorists should be aware that the
speed limit has been reduced through the
construction zone.
Butler County
US 231, G.L. Smith Street, from West Ohio
Street to KY 70- The road has been opened
to traffic with one lane in both directions.
Crews will continue working on finishing
touches along G.L. Smith Street, so motorists

should use caution while traveling through this


section. Also, Logansport Road is closed to
thru traffic to allow the approach to be
constructed to tie in to G.L. Smith Street.
US 231, Beaver Dam Road- The road will
have one lane closed on the bridge at mile
point 16.34. The lane closure will be in place
for approximately 6 weeks to allow contract
crews to perform maintenance work on the
bridge. The lane closure will utilize traffic
control signals to control alternating traffic
across the bridge. The maximum width of the
lane used by traffic will be 12 feet with a 40
ton weight limit. Motorists should use caution
while traveling through this work zone. For

Edmonson County
KY 743- (Between KY 101 and Sulphur
Road) Earthwork and paving operations will
continue for a widening project. Expect an
increase in construction traffic and intermittent
flagging operations.

KY 70- Elite Contractors will continue work


painting the bridge over the Green River on KY

70. The bridge is now open to both lanes. The


remainder of the work will have minimal impact
on traffic with intermittent flagging operations.

Logan County
KY 106, Spa Road, from the Logan/Todd
county line to US 431- Resurfacing
operations will continue. Portions of this 7 mile
stretch of roadway will have a one lane road
controlled by flaggers. Trucks will be entering
and exiting the highway, so motorists should
use caution while traveling through this work
zone.
KY 79, Morgantown Road, from Homer
Road (MP 4) to Homer Chapel Road (MP
10)- Crews will continue resurfacing
operations. Portions of this 6 mile stretch of
roadway will have a one lane road controlled
by flaggers. Trucks will be entering and exiting
the highway, so motorists should use caution
while traveling through this work zone.
Warren County

KY 242 Resurfacing Contractor continues


milling and resurfacing KY 242 from Three
Springs Road to Plano Road. Lane closures
may be in place between the hours of 6 a.m.
and 6 p.m.
I-65 to US 31-W Connector Contractor will
continue to build grade between I-65 and US
31-W. Construction traffic will also be crossing
US 68 within the project limits over steel
plates. Flaggers will be present when
construction vehicles will be crossing. Outside
Shoulder will be closed on I-65 southbound
between mile marker 31-29.
Three Springs Road (KY 884) Widening
Contractor will continue widening operations
on the Wright Implement side of Three Springs
road. Drivers should stay alert to construction
traffic and equipment entering and exiting the
project.
KY2632 Hammitt Hill Crews plan will begin
placing the chip seal shoulder along this newly
paved route.
KY 1320 Crews will begin placing the chip
seal shoulder along this newly paved route.

Bogle Road Contractor is in final stages of


the project. Mainly paving, striping and
guardrail work left to finish.
