Randomly select 95 2nd year, 3rd year, and 4th year students from UST Faculty
of Pharmacy A.Y. 2014-2015.
Let the students answer the constructed survey made by the authors.
The survey would contain questions regarding stress and anxiety reduction in
the form of needed for the data.
Encode the responses for interpretation of the data.
Analyze the data to come up with the results.
Sample Size
The respondents of the study will include the different batches from the
Department of Pharmacy of UST, namely the 1st year to 3rd year students.
Assuming there are 45 students per batch, and 6 and 7 sections for year levels 1, 2
and 3, respectively, a population of 990 was computed. To get the sample of the
study, the Slovins formula was used.
n=
N

1+ N e
Where:
n - sample
N - population
e error (5%)
The population, 990, was divided by the sum of 1 and 49.5 (product of 990 and 5%).
The sample, therefore, is 285. To determine the respondents per year level, this was
further subdivided into three parts; hence, a number of 95 students will be
randomly selected for every batch.
Sample
From a population of 990, a sample of 285 was computed. This means that
285 students per year (excluding 4th year students) will serve as respondents of the
study. The respondents will come from the Department of Pharmacy which will
consist of students from 1st year to 3rd year.
