I.
I am Bertrand Russell, and many of you probably havent heard of me.
A. I was one of the most important mathematicians of the twentieth century, as well as a historian,
a founder of formal logic, and an ardent social activist
B. Above all, you should vote for me for the leader of the colony on Planet X for three reasons: my
historical knowledge, my mathematical and logical expertise, and my social activism
II.
Firstly, as a prominent historian, I wrote the History of Western Philosophy
A. It is a comprehensive review of western philosophy
B. The book was held in such high regard that Albert Einstein described it as A precious book ...
which stands above the conflicts of parties and opinions.
C. It was also reviewed in the Journal of Philosophy of England, which said that it stands head
and shoulders above the rest.
D. This historical expertise indicates my familiarity with trends in world history and reveals my
understanding of the philosophical ideas that drive history
E. This understanding would predispose me to making logical decisions based on historical
precedent, and understanding the ideological consequences of those actions, allowing me to be
a more effective leader
III.
I was also an important mathematician and logician; along with Alfred Russell Whitehead, I
authored the Principia Mathematica, one of the most important mathematical texts in history
A. Because of this, the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy calls me one of the most important
logicians of the twentieth century.
B. For a space colony, we would obviously want a leader who can understand mathematics
because only they could comprehend the complex problems that may be presented by an
unfamiliar space environment
C. We would also want a leader like me who understands logic so they could base their decisions
on logic and reason instead of emotion and fallacy
IV.
Lastly, I was an ardent social activist; I was staunchly opposed to nuclear war my whole life, and
I regularly took up positions to help the people around them, even when it went against the
more powerful members of society
A. I was an anti-Vietnam War activist and a proponent of nuclear disarmament, as well as the first
president of the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament
B. I was also a proponent of democracy, womens suffrage, gay rights, and racial equality
C. For our leader, we would certainly want someone who is not biased by sexism, racism,
homophobia, or other prejudices.
D. Thus, my views make me a prime candidate for leadership on Planet X.
V.
In conclusion, my historical knowledge, my expertise in mathematics and logic, and my social
activism make me the only reasonable choice for your leader on the colony on Planet X
VI.
In contrast, my opponents are, for numerous reasons, entirely unqualified for leadership on
planet X
A. Firstly, Gandhi was a racist who could not overcome his own prejudices
1. He referred to black people in africa as kaffirs, a derogatory term similar to the N word
2. On one occasion, according to the Atlanta Black Star website and books by Domenico Losurdo
and G.B. Singh, he said that indians were undoubtedly infinitely superior to the Kaffirs
3. He also claimed that Kaffirs are as a rule uncivilised They are troublesome, very dirty
and live almost like animals.
4. Once, according to a book by G.B. Singh, he even raised an army of south african indians just
to fight against the blacks, indicating that his racist views take precedence over his desire for
nonviolence

5. These misleading positions on equality and non violence indicate that we can not trust him to
lead fairly, since he would be affected by personal prejudices and biases
B. Lincoln would also not make a good leader due to his tyrannical tendencies
1. According to the New york times, he expanded executive power more than any other president
a) He completely suspended habeas corpus
b) He directly defied supreme court rulings
c) He effectively declared war without approval of congress, a direct violation of constitution
2. He was also not really a proponent of equality; on one occasion, according to the Atlanta Black
Star website, he said that I am not in favor of bringing about in any way the social and
political equality of the white and black races.
3. Based on this evidence, Lincoln was clearly a racist who could not lead fairly due to personal
bias and prejudice
4. Without a war to justify his actions, if we elect him, Lincolns blatant power-grabs would make
him no more than a Racist Tyrant
C. Lastly, Rosa parks would not make a good leader due to her tendency to overreact to minor
issues
1. According to the FindLaw case law database, she once sued a rap duo for millions just for using
her name in a song that otherwise had little to do with her
2. According to the Los Angeles Times, she boycotted a NAACP event because the speaker was
an actor whose character made a joke about her in a movie.
3. A leader who would do this would not be effective, since they would be unable to handle
criticism, and they would spend all of their time addressing minor issues, making them unable to
deal with major problems
D. Based on these major flaws, my opponents would be entirely unable to lead a colony, making
me the only reasonable choice for your leader on planet X
