The Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Child & Adolescent Health at Aster

Medcity is a one-of-its-kind dedicated facility for comprehensive care and
management of health problems in children and adolescents. On par with
the best Paediatric Hospitals in the world in terms of clinical support and
medical care, the Neonatal and Paediatric treatment areas here are child
friendly in design and offer a warm, comfortable and soothing ambience
for babies and children to recuperate faster. Committed to the cause of
providing safe and high quality medical care with compassion, the team of
internationally and nationally trained Paediatricians, Neonatologists,
Paediatric Intensive Care Doctors and Paediatric/ Neonatal Nurses here
work 24/7, adhering to evidence-based treatment guidelines with a multidisciplinary approach.
The CoE has state-of-the-art diagnostic, investigation and treatment
facilities, including unique features like Inhaled Nitric Oxide and total body
cooling for HIE*. It also offers advanced Critical Care with a dedicated
Level 3 PICU and NICU where children and neonates who require intensive
care monitoring including medically unstable patients who require
mechanical ventilation and single or multi-organ support are treated. The
PICU also offers post-operative care for surgical procedures, emergencies
and planned admissions. Manned by PALS certified Paediatric/ Neonatal
Critical Care experts and support staff round the clock and supervised
closely by the Infection Control Department to prevent any possibilities of
cross-infection, the PICU and NICU follow internationally approved
treatment protocols. Aster Medcity will also be the first in the region to
introduce an independent transport and retrieval team capable of
stabilising and transferring critically ill children to the hospital with the
help Intensive Care Ambulance, and in the future, by way of aeromedical
transfer.
