Description

Sikagard-950 is a waterborne two part, coloured polyurethane coating.


It has a flexible resin binder with PVC plasticizer blocking properties.

Uses

To provide a chemically resistant coating film with good mechanical


resistance on mechanically fixed or bonded Sikaplan and Sarnafil PVC
or FPO roof waterproofing membranes where different surface colours are
required i.e. architectural features / design or roof graphics.

Application Details
Consumption

5 m2 to 8 m2 per kg and coat dependent on system as above.

Substrate Quality

The membrane surface must be clean and dry, free from all contaminants
including dust, oil, grease, coatings, surface treatments etc.

After cleaning with Sika-Trocal Cleaner 2000 the membrane surface has
to be rinsed with water. Let the membrane surface dry completely before
the Sikalastic Primer FPO or Sikagard 950 caoting is applied.

Beware of condensation!
The substrate and uncured coating must be at least 3C above dew point
to reduce the risk of condensation or blooming on the finish.

Processing
Mixing

Part A: 7 parts by weight


Part B: 3 parts by weight

Mixing Time

Stir part A thoroughly prior to mixing. Add part B and mix together thoroughly
with a power stirrer (~ 300 rpm - 400 rpm).
Mixing time at least 3 minutes until a homogeneous mixture is achieved.
Pour the mixed material into a clean container and mix again to ensure
complete mixing.

Note: The times are approximate and will be affected by changing ambient
conditions. Do not use material which is over the pot life.

Note: If the maximum waiting time of 8 hours is exceeded it is necessary


to lightly abrade the surface.

Application Method

Sikagard-950 may be applied by brush or roller or airless spray.

Notes on Application /
Limitations

Freshly applied Sikagard-950 must be protected from damp, condensation


and water for at least 8 12 hours.
Applied Sikagard-950 must not be tread on for at least 3 hours after
application (light foot traffic only).
During curing time until overcoatable condition the min. temperature may
not drop below +8C.

Tool Cleaning

Clean tools and application equipment with water immediately after use.
Hardened / cured material can only be removed mechanically.
