NOTES

W O R S H I P

Youll note that the holiness of God is one of the

central themes in worship this morning. Youll also
recall that when the Scriptures speak of Gods
holiness, they frequently mention that hosts of
angels and all those who have been redeemed
sing together. People from every tribe and nation
join in the great chorus of heavenly worship. All of
Gods created beings unite in one grand community
of worshipers. We live in a very physical world. We
may be tempted to think this morning that the only
worshiping that is going on is that which we can see
and hear in the sanctuary. All of us who are trusting in
Christ are actually part of a very real, unseen world, a
community made up of earthly and heavenly beings
all giving praise to their Creator. Those in the heavenly
community give glory to God in their work and worship
even as those of us on earth do the same. As you sing
the opening hymn this morning, imagine that you are
in the front row of a choir of thousands of saints and
angels in heaven singing praise to God. Truth is, you
are! Dont ever get caught worshiping only on earth!
Worshiping God connects heaven and earth.

JOBS PARTNERSHIP
More than just life and job skills training, Jobs Partnership
provides career onramps for the unemployed and
underemployed in our community. The goal is to give
students a biblical understanding of work and help them
find a career, not just a job, so they can provide for
their families. In January, First Pres will support the next
semester of Jobs Partnership students. One of the keys
to transformation is the team the volunteers who provide
support and encouragement to the students. Come serve
and be a part of a powerful example of the integration of
faith and work. Learn more at fpco.org/JP.
