Nelson Central School – Co mbined Schools Swimming Sports 2010
Last week a team of 27 Totara/Te Pouahi syndicate students were selected to represent Nelson Central at the
Combined Schools Swimming Sports held at Hampden Street Pool. Schools participating were Clifton Terrace,
St Josephs, Victory, Hira, Auckland Point and Hampden Street.
For many it was their first experience competing in an inter-school event and they coped admirably.
The team performed extremely well.Congratulations to all on such a suburb effort and for your wonderful
social skills.
A big thank you to all the parents/caregivers who transported the swimmers to the event and to those who
provided great support to the team at the event.
A number of swimmers made the finals for their events. Congratulations everyone.

WASTE FREE?? – We have had a call from the ‘Environment Centre’ to see if we could make the gala
‘waste free’. This is late notice but for this to happen we would need a keen person or people to be fully
committed to this project during the course of the gala. Full instructions, labels, bins etc would be

CHANGE STALL – Look out for the change stall in front of Room 1 – please change any large notes from
10.45 am EFTPOS IS AVAILABLE FOR CASH WITHDRAWALS ONLY and auction payments.
ALL STALLHOLDERS – A box with your requirements eg serviettes, plates etc will be in the staffroom
for collection on Sunday morning. These will be put together on Friday if you need them earlier. Any

STALL FLOATS: Please could all stallholders collect stall floats and name labels from Room 1 between
10.45am and 11.00am.
SET UP HELPERS: Could all the volunteers involved in tent set up please be at school by 7.30 am sharp.
