Please stand to say the pledge of Allegiance with your class
We are pleased to announce that BUSD is starting a Unified Sports Basketball Team in partnership with
Special Olympics Northern California and the Brentwood Police Activities League (PAL). Unified Sports
combines students with and without disabilities on sports teams and is dedicated to promoting social
inclusion through shared sports training and competition experiences. Unified Sports joins students
receiving special education services and their general education peers on the same team. It was inspired
by a simple principle: training together and playing together is a quick path to friendship and
understanding. The sport we will be playing this season is basketball and you are invited to be part of the

The Snack Hut is open this Thursday, and every Thursday after school! Come by room 3! (10/15)
Intramural sports begins this Friday! If you signed up, then you should receive your schedule from your
advisory teacher. There is also a schedule available online on Ms. Clapps webpage under
Intramural(10/16)
Next Tuesday the 20th there will be an odyssey of the mind student meeting during lunch A and B in
Room 40. (10/20)
Wednesday, October 21st is our first Walk FROM School Wednesday of the year! During winter, the
weather gets colder, and the mornings are darker, so we will have walk FROM school instead of walk TO
school Wednesdays. ASB students will be in the parking lot next to the Heritage baseball fields after
school. Come sign in and fill out a ticket on your way home from school! (10/20)
October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. To bring awareness to this cause, we will have Pink Spirit Day
on Friday, October 23rd. (10/22)
The 7th and 8th grade girls basketball teams will be playing our rival Bristow on Tuesday, October 27th. Lets
support our girls and encourage them to Black out Bristow! Wear all black to school for a special spirit day
and then come to the games! ASB will be selling candy and soda at the game. The 7th grade game starts at
3:45 and the 8th grade game starts at 5:00 here at the AMS gym. (10/27)
Attention garden-enthusiasts, The Green Society enrichment class resumes this Thursday, after school, at
2:45. It is time to plant our autumn and winter crops and we could use all the help that we can get in the
garden. We welcome new-comers, so bring a friend. (10/15)
Attention NEW 6th grade ASB representatives and any 6th graders interested in ASB!
Our first ASB Enrichment Class meeting will be this Thursday, October 15, from 2:45-3:45 in room 11. Please
plan on attending if you were elected to represent your class, or if you are interested in becoming
involved with ASB.
Improv Team Tryouts Dont forget to turn in your Quarter Two Improv Team Audition Application to
Mrs. Kennealy in Room 47 no later than Monday, October 19th. Tryouts for the Second Quarter Improv
Team are on Tuesday, October 20th from 3:30-5:00 pm in the Drama Room (Room 53). You must have a
parent signed audition form to try out.(10/19)
