Easter Kit 1 Detailed Activity List

Things you will need from home are listed with each activity (NFH)
For all magnet pages:
a. Place page on cookie sheet.
b. Put a magnet on each of the circles
c. Afterward, use your dot painter to fill in the dots
All handwriting pages are included but there are no instructions 
The resurrection eggs details can be found following this list. Save for the next
kit, as you’ll be doing most of them then.

1. Humpty Dumpty (NFH: optional book)


a. Included in kit: Plastic egg, small box, band-aid
b. Get book from library or watch video at
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VDyayfFnH90
c. Repeat rhyme using plastic egg, shoe box, and band-aid to fix him

2. Eggs-tra Ordinary Sounds (NFH: Bowl or basket)


a. Included in kit: 12 eggs with 6 different sounds (2 of each sound)

b. Place eggs in a large bowl or Easter basket.


c. Shake each egg and listen to its sound. Find the matching egg and
place together. (Note: Colors do NOT match on purpose so they really
have to listen)

3. Put Humpty Dumpty together (NFH: Glue stick)


a. Included in kit: Oval, 2 circles, 4 rectangles, 4 squares, a bunch of
rectangles, construction paper
b. Put Humpty Dumpty together by gluing shapes: oval egg, circle eyes,
rectangle arms and legs, square hands and feet, rectangle bricks for
the wall
4. Make Orange Play dough (NFH: Saucepan, spoon)
a. Included in kit: dry ingredients, wet ingredients in container to store
finished play dough
b. Combine all of the ingredients in a saucepan.
c. Cook over medium heat until mixture pulls away from the side of the
pan. Be sure to stir constantly!
d. Knead.
e. Store in container wet ingredients were in (wash and dry first)

5. Introduce Bible memory verse & song (NFH: nothing)


a. Included in kit: double-sided song sheet with words on one side and
motions on the other

6. Matching Number Eggs (NFH: nothing)


a. Included in kit: 10 eggs with numbers on one half and stickers on the
other half
b. Separate eggs into their two halves and match them back together
again.

7. Tissue Paper Cross (NFH: Glue stick, large paint brush, water, small
bowl)
a. Included in kit: Large cross cutout, tissue paper, cornstarch
b. Mix cornstarch with ½ cup water in bowl and set aside
c. On the precut cross, glue on pieces of tissue paper.
d. Once covered, paint over the entire thing with liquid starch
8. Make Palm Branches (NFH: Glue, pencil, green crayon/marker)
a. Included in kit: Palm template
b. Color just the palm fronds, front and back
(color approximate area on the back)
c. Cut out the whole thing on the heavy lines
d. Glue along where it says glue
e. With a pencil at the square edge, roll as tightly
as you can around the pencil until you get to the
glue
f. Press the pencil into the glue and hold for one
minute
g. With the pencil still in the tube, bend every other frond back
h. Shake out the pencil

9. Foam sticker sorting (NFH: nothing)


a. Included in kit: bag of foam Easter stickers, small plastic buckets
b. Sort bag of foam stickers by color, shape, etc into small plastic
buckets

10. Donkey activities (NFH: Glue)


a. Included in kit: Donkey outline, brown tissue paper, donkey fact sheet
b. Put glue all over donkey outline
c. Cover donkey with tissue paper
d. Read donkey fact sheet
11.Easter Memory (NFH: nothing)
a. Included in kit: Easter memory game
b. Play memory with included cards
c. Stress that Jesus said, ‘Remember me.’ And that He is the lamb of god
who takes away the sin of the world (John 1:29)

12. Eggs-act Match (NFH: nothing)


a. Included in kit: Medium baskets, bag of cut out ovals
b. Tape one of each pattern of oval onto outside of medium baskets
c. Sort ovals by pattern into small buckets
d. You could then do AB patterning with ovals

13. Lamb Craft—John 1:29 (NFH: black paint, glue)


a. Included in kit: construction paper, cotton balls, googly eyes
b. Make handprint in black paint on construction paper
c. After paint is dry, fill in lamb’s back with cotton balls
d. Glue on googly eyes and draw mouth with white crayon
