K.L International Airport Berhad (Malaysian Government Linked )

Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) (IATA: KUL, ICAO: WMKK) is
Malaysia's main international airport and one of the major airports of South East
Asia. Built at a cost of US$3.5 billion in Sepang district of Selangor, it is located
approximately 45 kilometres (28 mi) from Kuala Lumpur city centre and serves
the Greater Klang Valley conurbation. KLIA is the largest and busiest airport in
Malaysia. In 2014, it handled 48,930,409 passengers and 753,899 tonnes of
cargo. It is the world's 20th-busiest airport by total passenger traffic, 13thbusiest airport by international passenger traffic, and 28th-busiest airport by
cargo traffic. The airport is operated by Malaysia Airports (MAHB) Sepang Sdn
Bhd and is the major hub of Malaysia Airlines, MASkargo, AirAsia, AirAsia X,
and Malindo Air.The ground breaking ceremony for Kuala Lumpur International
Airport (KLIA) took place on 1 June 1993[citation needed] when the
government decided that the existing Kuala Lumpur airport, then known as

Subang International Airport (now Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport) could not
handle future demand. It was created as part of the Multimedia Super Corridor, a
grand development plan for Malaysia. Upon KLIA's completion, Subang
Airport's Terminal 1 building was demolished. Malaysia Airports agreed to
redevelop the remaining Terminal 3 to create a specialist airport for turboprop
and charter planes surrounded by a residential area and a business park. The
IATA airport code KUL was transferred from Subang Airport, which currently
handles only turboprop aircraft, general aviation and military aircraft. Subang
Airport's IATA code was changed to SZB.K.L International Airport was built by
the KLIA Holdings Sdn.Bhd and KLIA Holding still responsible toward the
building in term of maintenance and defect and this service go on around 20~30
years.

KLIA Consult (Subsidiary of KLIA Holding Sdn.Bhd)

KLIA Consultancy Services Sdn Bhd (KLIA Consult) evolved from the KL
International Airport Berhads (KLIA Berhad) remarkable accomplishment in
project managing the KL International Airport (KLIA) Project to successful
completion.KLIA Berhad was incorporated on May 29th 1993 under the Minister
of Finance Inc. to undertake the development and construction of the RM9
billion KL International Airport Project in Sepang. Considered and architectural
and engineering marvel, the successful opening of the airport on June 28 th 1998,
provides a grand testimony to the Malaysian ingenuity, capability, expertise and
skills, and commitment in managing the project to successful completion. The
KLIA project was not just an ordinary project. It was like developing and
constructing a new intelligent city from scratch within a short space of time. The
project comprises of over 180 different packages of different categories
constructed over 7500 acres of land area. The categories include infrastructure
works, utilities, power generation, building works, airport-related structures, rail
works, sophisticated IT systems, communications and networks and a full-scale
landscaping and tree transplantation works. There categories of works can be
further broken into various facility classifications. They includes roads, bridges,
sewerage and drainage; rail works and stations; power generation, electrical, gas
and aviation fuel distribution; airport terminals, amenities and its associated
facilities; hotels and commercial centre; free trade and industrial complex;
public transportation; sophisticated IT system and fibre-optic networks; and
landscaping works. The successful completion of the airport in a very short
space of time, with the highest standard and quality, and at the lowest of cost
truly reflects KLIA Berhads strength and capabilities in managing project

Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) that was completed in a record time, the
