Students who are helpful are: Sadie, Lennon, Jason, Ryan


Students who need extra patience and attention when it comes to behavior
are: Nehemiah, Xavier, Lemuel, and Eric.
Consequences/Rewards: You can give out acts of kindness tickets to students
who do the right thing. You can reward good behavior with class points on the
board (they are later paid as cubes into a jar)You can write students name on
the board and tell them I would have to decide whether they get certain
privileges the next day. Of course you can handle your classroom

Time

Lesson Outline:

Please put out backpack and lunch bins out


against the wall to the right of classroom door (if
you are outside it would be to your right). If it is
raining then pull them almost to the middle of
the outside hallway so that water does not drip
into them.
First Bell Rings Please open door and wait for
students to line up on the white line.
Students enter. Have them take the chairs down
if they are not down. If they have a book bag it
goes on their table. Ask them to come to their
rug spot on the carpet. I have attached their
carpet spots seating chart
Lunch Choice: The Lunch choice gets written on
the easel as follows:

You ask each choice and then tally the hands


raised. We usually have a math discussion about
what choice has more less, which number is odd
even. Ask students if they notice anything and
take raised hands. Take attendance and have
Ramyia and Lina take it to the office.
Have students play a round of simon says
standing on their carpet spots, have them
stretch, or whatever brain break you see fit so
they are ready to sit back down and start
calendar.
Read aloud:
Reading from book bags at their desk. Please
give students who brought their book bag a
sticker on their folder.
Recess
Star of the Week: Sadie will bring her poster and
you can put it up on the whiteboard for her to
share with the class. Then the class can ask her
some questions or say a comment (about 5
minutes) Then pass the star of the week papers
to the students to write a letter to sadie with at
least three sentences and a picture.
Students may read from book bags or boxes if
finished early.
Start getting lined up to take students to their
11:30 lunchtime.
Students Line up to enter the classroom from
lunch recess.
Read Aloud: Pig
Chinese New Year Lantern
Students get a long piece of red paper that
is folded in half and marked with a black
line. The black line is to remind students
NOT to cut past that mark. They will cut
strips across the piece of paper then open

and attach with staples to make a lantern.


They can add the picture of a sheep with
glue (color if they wish). They can add a
handle with a strip of yellow construction
paper. I will attach samples of the lantern.

When finished students can work on the


number writing and addition chinese
character worksheets.
Afternoon Recess
Finish Chinese New Year work. If finished they
can take them home.
Corners: Please refer to the corners chart on the
cabinet. And have students work on their
assigned corner. They should bring their Travel
Log notebook with them to record what they
worked on.
Prepare Students to go home (3:11p.m.
dismissal) Bring bins inside at the end of the
day. Ask any of the four helpful students I listed
at the beginning of this plan to guide you how
we get to our dismissal gate. If you are the first
class there you will need to wait for a first grade
teacher with a gate key. Please wait and watch
that students leave with a parent or adult.
