Important Questions For SSC CGLTier I 2014

Therefore, talking about

quantitative aptitude sections,

Problems Based On Ages

you should firstly cover these

topics.

Algebra and Geometry includes

the following topics.

ALGEBRA

GEOMETRY

Linear
Equations
Quadratic
Equations
Profit, Loss
and Discount
Percentage
General topics
Co-ordinate
Geometry
Mensuration

After preparing these topics,

cover rest of the topics.

Now coming to the General

Awareness and Reasoning
section.

General
Intelligence
and
Reasoning
Almost every year, 50%- 60%

questions are asked from Series

chapter, which includes analogy,

odd pair etc as discussed below.

Following is tentative weightage

of general awareness and
reasoning section.

Topics Series, Arrangement and

logic includes the following
topics

SERIES

Analogy
Odd Pair
Missing term
in series
Dictionary
based ques

ARRANGEMENT

LOGIC

Direction
based test
Arrangements
(weight wise/
height wise)
Statement
and
Conclusion
Syllogism

Summarizing, You should firstly

practice Series topics to cover
the maximum syllabus. Then

proceed further. Also, Problems

based on ages and seating
arrangement topics are

important, but last year there

was not a single question from

this topic. But still you should
cover this topic.

General
Awareness
General Awareness section is one

of the confusing sections as exact

weightage of it can't be found.

But according to the pattern of

previous year exams, maximum

questions have always been
asked from Science, Polity,

history, people in news, books

etc. The tentative weightage is as

follows:

Science, Static and Others covers

the following topics:

STATIC

SCIENCE
OTHERS

Polity
History
Geography
Environmental
Biodiversity
Biology
Physics
Chemistry
IT
People in news
Books

Students always think that

reading just current affairs if

sufficient for general awareness.

But the truth is, topics like polity,

biodiversity, history are also
important in exam view. For

these topics, you just need to

cover NCERT books which are

very easy to cover, but includes

almost everything. Therfore, for

Static part, no need to cover
lengthy books.

English
Section
English section covers Reading

comprehensions, Vocabulary and

grammar. Tentative weightage is
as follows:

In SSC CGL exam, two reading

comprehensions have always
been asked i.e 10 questions.
Vocabulary and grammar
involves following topics:

VOCABULARY

Synonym
Antonym
Idioms and
Phrases
Word
substitution
Spelling

GRAMMAR

Sentence
Correction
Sentence
Improvement
Blanks

So, i just give a complete outlook

of the pattern. I hope now almost

everything is clear about the

pattern of SSC CGL. A little or

more changes could be there.
