testthatstudentsworkthroughbeforetakingtests/exams.Theycanlisten,readandwatch,thenworkthe
modulesonthecomputer.Studentsmayreviewmodulesasoftenastheydlikeuntiltheymasterthematerial.
Studentsarerequiredtoscorean80oraboveonalltestsandexams.Iftheyscorebelowan80,thetest/exam
willberesetandtheywillneedtoretakeituntiltheypasswithan80orabove.

Ourgoalisthatanycompanylookingforapprentices,CNCoperators,orQCtechnicianswouldbringcompleter
studentsinatanentrylevel.Companies/StaffingAgenciescouldusethisprogramasascreeningtoolforfinding
potentialskilledlabor.Weanticipatethatcompaniesorstaffingagencieswouldperformthoroughbackground
checksanddrugscreeningsaswellascompleteaninterviewprocesstodecidewhetherthestudentisagoodfit
fortheirteam.Ourfeelingandgoalisthatwewillshowabetterplacementrateandretentionratethanany
staffingagency,twoyearinstitution,orfouryearinstitutionwhentheseproceduresareestablishedand
maintained.

The CNC Machine Operator program is divided into two parts or phases. Phase I consists of four inclass modules.
Phase II consists of 144 online course hours.
High School Diploma/GED
Prior experience working in manufacturing and producon environment preferred

Reading for Informaon (RFI) Level 4 minimum
Locang Informaon (LI) Level 4 minimum
Applied Mathemacs (AM) Level 4 minimum
CNCMath(48hours)
This module is a review of basic arithmec fracons,
decimals, signed numbers, order of operaons, square and
square root, rao and proporon, machine speeds and
feeds, Cartesian coordinate system, algebra, geometry,
trigonometry and praccal industrial shop problems
focusing on CNC machine tool operaons.

PrintReadingManufacturing/MechanicalDrawings
(32hours)
Trainees will interpret actual industry prints while building
the knowledge and skills that will allow them to read
complete sets of working drawings. Text contains realisc
examples, actual prints, illustraons, related tests, and print
reading problems based on realworld engineering prints
related to machining and manufacturing. Thiswillinclude
10hoursofGeometricDimensioningandTolerancing.

BasicMeasuringTools,SafetyAwareness,Quality
Assurance,Producon&Processes
(16hours)
Covers general shop safety and how to protect against
hazards. Introduces the basics and implementaon of 5S
organizaon, orderliness, cleanliness, standardized cleanup,
and selfdiscipline. Includes the calibraon of gages and
other data collecon equipment and the use common
measurement systems and precision measurement using
calipers and micrometers.

IntrotoCNCLatheandCNCMillOperaons
(54hours)
This module lays the foundaon of machining and includes
an introducon to machine operaons and tooling. Projects
will be machined on CNC lathes and milling machines.
Students will learn how to hold or xture a part to reference
it for repeatability in producon. Basic programming G and
M codes, machine structure and operaon.
