not have complete instructions. Following
tasks are not given in the exercise guide at
the task section. Though steps are given in

do not like following step by step instructions,
if all the tasks are given at the task sections
it makes it easy to learn and do the exercise

We have found some formatting issues in the

401 master exercise guide. We are providing
an instance of each type of issue in this case.
1. Line Spacing issue ? On page 1, steps
under the Task section and sub steps under
the Instructions sections do not have line
spacing. 2. Formatting issue ? a. On Page 17,
sub steps like ?a.?, ?b.?, and so on are in
bold. They should not be in bold. The same
issue is on page number 18 also. b. On page
21, the period should be bold on sub step A
and D of step 2 based on the font style of the
preceeding text. c. The exercise guide does
not have a blank page after TOC. d. The TOC
pages do not have copyright year
information.

Hi, Exercise 3-4 (setting up Fumiko Suzuki) is

"Your Turn" exercise. However this user is
required to perform Exercise 3-7
( Troubleshoot Login Issues). Request you to
please see if we can change Exercise 3-4 it to
"Join Me" to avoid further confusion.
"Teaching Point - Says She must be set up,
but doesn't says specifically it has to be set
up by Instructor".

3/30/2015

Both of these slides in the new dexk still say

"Exer Type" in the top left corner of the slide.
57 = Your turn 92=Join me

5/28/2015

Hi, It would be very helpful if we could add

the following step to the tasks. This can be
an additional task in the Task List. For both
the exercises. 2- Add a filter to limit accounts
only to "Customer Accounts"

3/30/2015

the first intro review question is 'what is a

customer company'? This made sense when
we had slide 12 (no number on actual slide)
called customer company, but now it is called
'connect to the internet of customers'. Please
can we update this question so that it either
is asking about how wonderful salesforce
connectability is or something to do with why
you'd want a crm in the first place.. customer
company is a bit meaningless in this scenario
now. thanks

3/18/2015

I really like that we now have the login

credentials in the exercise manual. Final
request, please can we update the slide and
the manual to show five hashes instead of 3?
I keep being asked about this and have no
real answer! ta

3/18/2015

5/15/2015

Ex2-11 we the slide says change the PIN

requirements. 2 B i is fine as the require after
time is 5 and we change it to 10. 2 B ii asks
us to change it to 4, but it is already 4. Can
we either change it in the org to something
like 6 so we change it back to 4, or pick
another number for the exercise? thanks

3/18/2015

during this slide the people don't have the

Salesforce1 installed in their device because
this is a topic of homework. usually I explain
the S1 with the one app:
login.salesforce.com/one/one.app maybe is a
good idea to put this link in the teaching
note.

5/15/2015

there is no content in "Teaching Points" for
questions 5 and 6.

5/28/2015

There is no Exercise Type listed in the left

corner. Historically has been a "Join Me."
Currently has a place holder.

5/28/2015

Suggestion: In our Chatter Post on this slide

we mention groups that aren't in the Test
Org's. Could we modify the chatter post on
slide 129 to say only 'Spider Laptops' (Allison
Wheeler) and maybe add the 'Marketing Best
Practices Group' (Conner McCoy)?

email method of identity confirmation can't
be disabled.

11/5/2015

Questions 5 and 6 are missing the content

that the old deck had under "Teaching Points"

5/28/2015

records should not be owned by sys admin

3/30/2015

On slide 277, "Profile CRED" is listed in the

Object part of the diagram. I think it should
be changed to Object Permissions CRED,
since this is not just on the profile. You can
give these permissions via the profile as well
as permission sets.

3/30/2015

The questions in the manual don't match the

KCM for this module. I'm not sure what the
policy for keeping these updated are, but a
student mentioned it, so thought I'd pass it
on!

3/30/2015

I've attached a slide that contains what I

think it should look like - it's almost like the
slide currently in 401, but one additional
step.

3/31/2015

I was just doing the release training and

realised just how useful this is going to be to
circumnavigate some of the restrictions in RH
without having to resort to territory
management, particularly for orgs where
they have a partner overlay structure. To that
end, I was thinking it might be good to have
an manager group introductory slide after the
public group one, saying what it does/doesn't
do, and how to switch it on. We could even
move towards creating a sharing rule to
utilise it..

7/4/2015

Teaching Points - item 4 states

"Administrators can disable SMS identity
confirmation for all users (Setup | Security
Controls | Session Settings and clear the
Enable SMS-based identity confirmation
checkbox.) Verification code sent via email
and / or SMS information - Knowledge Article
Number: 000198756 states "The feature
"Enable SMS-based identity confirmation"
cannot be turned OFF once the system admin
enables it." Teaching Points - item 5 states
"Administrators can allow users to choose
between email and SMS identity confirmation
by granting them the ?Allow email-based
Identity Confirmation? permission". SMS
Based Identity Confirmation, Knowledge
Article Number: 000176035 states "Before
the the Spring '14 release, this article
mentioned the ?Allow email-based Identity
Confirmation? permission to enable email
identity confirmation verification for users
with verified mobile numbers. In the Spring
'14 release, the ?Allow email-based Identity
Confirmation? permission was renamed the ?
Email-Based Identity Confirmation Option?
permission. The behavior is the same.

3/30/2015

Update login permissions on slide 162

Administrators with ?Modify All Data?

?View Setup and Configuration? permission

users to grant access. Previously, this option

setting for your organization. To disable this
feature, contact Salesforce.

11/5/2015

The slide for Exercise 4-9 is missing. The

exercise is in the Exercise Guide but no slide
in the deck

5/28/2015

Issue: Chatter Post No Longer Accurate since

Spring 15'. #2 has been removed from our
exercises, however it still appears in
screenshots and in the Chatter Post. Often
times, we see screenshots of what we're
about to do in the 'Join Me', 'Watch Me', and
'Your Turn' activities, such as creating a
Lookup Filter etc. Not sure if it matters if we
use Region/Zone Screenshots (I personally
don't care, because it's simple enough to
speak to) but it doesn't follow the pattern we
see throughout the entire curriculum.
Thanks!

3/16/2015

To be consistent with all the other modules,

can you right justify (or move all the bullet
points) for this module to the right column?
The other modules are designed such that
the objectives are on the left side and the
bullets are on the right side.

5/28/2015

Update exercise guide page 102: add to ex 63, need to add instructions regarding

Instructor notes state: After Duplicate

Management is set up, any time a user
attempts to save either a new record or an
existing record, the duplicate management
tools go to work. Please could we have the
DM setup steps here? Would be good for
quick reference since it is admins we are
teaching and I suggest we should be able to
tell them in brief. As this course moves on the
release notes are going to be bothersome to
go through just for this quick bit of setup. EG
we could say 'There is no checkbox in the
backend for admins to 'switch it on'. It is
available in all orgs and will start working as
soon as duplicate and matching rules have
been setup and activated.

3/17/2015

currently only 3 bullet points on slide. Please

can we add: Available for accounts, contacts,
leads, and custom objects thanks

3/17/2015

"If you deactivate or remove a field on an

object, it may cause matching rules with
mappings to this field to be ignored. This
could affect your duplicate detection. Make
sure you check all duplicate rule field
mappings for an object if you deactivate or
remove a field on the object." This is the use
case: 1) created a custom field on object 2)
added to Matching Rule 3) trying to delete
the custom field and got this error "This field
is used by the following matching rules: [rule
name]. Before you can delete the field,
remove it from the matching rules" what's
missing in the teaching note?

3/30/2015

Update slide with new screens ** Is slide 301

still needed??

5/14/2015

Currently G says add Login Date/Time

Column and the i and ii tell you how to do
that. iii then says Click Tabular Format and
select summary. This should be moved to H
and the letters after that updated to reflect
the changes. Alternatively, you could drop
this step and just ask them to select 'group
by this field' in step H, thereby automatically
changing it to a summary report. thanks

3/30/2015

Issue: Report Description says: "What are the

customer accounts created this year grouped
by Industry?" It should say "Created All Time"
as the date range in the exercise is 'All Time'.

3/30/2015

I think it would make more sense to switch

the two slides so we discuss Matrix reports
first and then discuss the possibility to group
by dates.

1/4/2015

For Exercise 7-1, the Student Guide states in

the tasks to create report and Save it as
Closed Business this Year If you go through
the exercise guide, the steps say to save it as
Closed Business YTD (you also use this report
later in a dashboard and the Exercise guide
again references it as Closed Business TYD)
This is confusing because a lot of students do
not use the exercise guide. They simply look
at the tasks listed in the Student Guide and
then get to Dashboard exercise and are
confused.

5/5/2015

2 copies of the slide are included.

5/28/2015

In Exercise 7-6 students do a your turn to

create the Users Not Logged in Last 7 Days
report. In Step 3 of 7-10 they basically recreate this report but group it differently. I
suggest we use the report design from 7-10
Step 3 for exercise 7-6 and remove Step 3
from 7-10. This will shave a little time of the
your turn but still leave the students with the
appropriate reports for the dashboard. The
Your Turn dashboard would also need to be
updated or checked to make sure it
references the correct Users Not Logged In
report.

11/5/2015

Currently in Ex 8-6 5 step J you have: I. In the

Global Search box, enter Allison and click
Search. J. Under People, click Allison Wheeler.
K. Verify that the Post appears in the feed I
think we should then click SEARCH FEEDS,
top right, and the post is immediately viiable,
so the steps could be: I. In the Global Search
box, enter Allison and click Search. J. click
SEARCH FEEDS K. Verify that the Post
appears in the feed. It also showcases the
SEARCH FEEDS functionality, and puts the
post we are looking for at the top, instead of
under Yuko's post.

Suggestions: 1. Should the title be "Creating

because you don't necessarily have to use

Exercise guide page 155 exercise 8-8: show

options on page layout properties so that the
option does/does not appear on the edit/new
lead page Notes from RL: To force case
assignment rules, select Default under Case
Assignment Checkbox. This means end users
won?t see any option to turn off case
assignment when editing a case. You can also
decide to include the Assign using active
assignment rules checkbox by selecting Show
on edit page. If you select both options, the
assignment checkbox is displayed and is
checked by default. The default setting will
force the assignment rule to run unless you
also display the checkbox and a user

11/5/2015

Now that we have an exercise for the process

builder, can we combine the 2 workflow
exercises into 1. We can have an immediate
action and time dependent action to cover
both. We can use the existing exercise 8-4
and add a time dependent task for 1 day
after date close. Assign to the Account owner.
subject would be follow up with client to
ensure they are satisfied with resolution. OR
You can add an immediate action to 8-5 and
eliminate 8-4.

5/14/2015

Rather than just updating the priority of the

case whenever a comment is added, use
"Case Comment Contains" in the workflow
criteria, check for important key words, and if
the key words are present change the priority
to High. Suggested Key Words: SLA, violation,
escalation

3/30/2015

Now that we've taken out the web to case

exercise and the queue checking, could we
make this slide a little shorter? Particularly for
non english speakers, cutting down text on
these definitely helps them listen day 5 :)

7/4/2015

"Trigger Criteria" changed to "Rule Criteria"

elsewhere but not here.

3/17/2015

Still says "Trigger Criteria". Has been

changed to "Rule Criteria" in other slides.

3/17/2015

Slide 507 states that 'If web-to-case

cases automatically queue and are processed
when the queue refreshes' Help & Training
states 'If your organization exceeds its daily

the Assign using active assignment rules

you select both options, the assignment

just another way to show the concept.

available in all orgs and will start working as
soon as duplicate and matching rules have
been setup and activated.

Added a fourth bullet to the slide: 4. Available

for accounts, contacts, leads, and custom
objects.

Slides updated

The instructor notes have been changed to

reflect the following: If a field on an object is
no longer available to your organization, it
may cause matching rules with mappings to
this field to be ignored. This could affect your
duplicate detection. Make sure you check all
duplicate rule field mappings for an object if
there is a change to the fields available to
your organization. For example, theClean
Statusfield is only available to customers
with a Data.comlicense. If your organization
no longer has aData.comlicense, this field is
no longer available and matching rules with
mappings to this field will be ignored.

The teaching points were changed to include

the following: AW Computing does not expect
to exceed the limit of five thousand cases a
day that can be automatically generated by

Salesforce stores additional requests in a
pending request queue that contains both
Web-to-Case and Web-to-Lead requests. The
requests are submitted when the limit
refreshes. The text on the slide was changed
