• I orchestrated a removal of a primary computer network system (TIDS II) to


install a new more efficient network (SubLAN-Submarine Local Area Network).

USS Montpelier on the new SubLAN system, ahead of schedule and under
budget, being awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement medal for
superior performance.
• I troubleshooted and rebuilt a Windows 2003 server at sea minimizing downtime
and ship wide impact, saving millions of dollars and man-hours by not having to
port to contract job.

Networking Skills:
- I capitalize on compatibility, environmental constraints, growth potential, life cycle
management, cost/performance analysis, and user feedback. I Performed management and
maintenance functions including inventory control of computer assets, software and configuration
management, user training, and help desk management.
• I operated master consoles (Windows 2003 Active Directory) to monitor
the performance of 10 computer systems servers worth over 1 million
dollars and associated network to coordinate computer networks access
and use for a constantly changing 150 personnel database.
• I planned, coordinated, and implemented network security measures to
protect data, software and hardware. I configured, monitored, and
maintained over 150-200 email accounts and updated monthly virus
protection software on 10 servers and over 200 laptops during non-peek
hours saving 1000s of lost man-hours.

Security Systems:
• I implemented the knowledge and ability to secure a network against intruders
and unauthorized users reducing intrusions from 3-5 daily to 0.
• Utilizing UNIX, Windows NT, 2000, 2003 infrastructures, commercial, freeware,
and government-owned security tools and firewalls, I maintained a high level of
security, network protection, and training by implementing a strict compliance to
Information Assurance programs designated from the IAM (Information
Assurance Manager) for over 200 personnel.
• I maintained 100% compliance to IAVA patches (Information Assurance &
Vulnerability Alert) for 2 years with zero breaches of security resulting in a Navy
Achievement Medal for exceptional work ethic.
